I have read about owners lock in various places but not sure if it is actually a good idea. Can anyone share their thoughts or experiences with using owners lock. It actually seems like a good concept when returning 2 times a year. But would just like some first hand info.

Thanks

PS: My DD and I are going gor a 4 day weekend to SSR August30. Just called and a studio was available!! Thhis will be our first trip "home" since we bought last month!!! :yay:

I got my owner's locker last fall, loaded it up during my Oct '07 trip and then sued it again during my May '08 trip. I have enjoyed the convenience of it! Basically, I loaded it up with everything from toothpaste, to shampoo & conditioner, to a sweatshirt and an extra pair of sneakers. My suitcase was fairly full during my October trip with all of the things that I had packed for the locker since I bought full size shampoo, etc. For some reason, I brought toiletries from home but waited to buy laundry detergent when I was down there. As I was going through the grocery store down by the outlets, I was laughing at myself because I jsut should have made a list and bought everything down there. :rotfl2:

Packing for my May trip last month was great! All I needed was clothes and my toothbrush! Yes, I still had a fairly full suitcase since I always overpack but it was much easier.

I have been using it since early on and I love it!

The service is outstanding (they keep saving me from myself when I screw up my information LOL!) and it's so nice to have all those "nice to haves" waiting on me at Disney.

I have things like swimsuit coverups, a "Real" hairdryer, a corkscrew, my "Disney" bag, sun screen etc all waiting on me when I arrive!

Thanks so much. I am going to check it out and load up a suitcase with items for the plane and then only a carry on for my clothes since we will only be there 4 days for our August trip and we will be back in November and then May (and I am sure somewhere in between)

We've only used it twice but already it's been a wonderful investment. We have all our toiletries (shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, etc) packed into there so we never need carry any down again. Makes it fantastic for our weekend trips. Just clothes in our suitcases so carry-on only. Makes it much faster not having to check bags. We also have some snacks that won't spoil so we can munch. And some good Starbucks coffee and filters.

The best Owners Locker story: Our last trip down we were early so after trying to check into VWL and finding our room wasn't ready yet we went over to MK. On our way back we got caught in a downpour. Soaked to the skin. We went back to VWL and checked in. Got to our room and of course our luggage wasn't there yet (not so magical express) . We had no clothes to change into and were soaked and freezing. Luckily our owners locker arrived and when we opened it up we found the 2 owners locker t-shirts in there. We had forgotten all about them.

So thanks Owners Locker guys, you saved us from catching pneumonia!

Love having things that we normally wouldn't pack. We store framed pics of our kids and grandkids (really makes our room feel like home), a brita faucet filter, a keyboard for our laptops. Then of course there are the usual items:
backpack, water bottle, fanny pack, toiletries, first aid items, corkscrew, umbrellas, ponchos, and on and on. I'm a real tighwad, but OL enhances our WDW experience so much that it is definitely worth it.

Charter Member here.

OL has most definately brought positive change to our overall vacation experience.

Service is First Class.

Only thing I don't like is when I get my text message that my OL has arrived at the resort before I have! :goodvibes

Thanks for the kind words, gang. Glad the shirts came in handy, DoOver!!

Mimmie, here's a link to the site...let me know if you have any questions.

Another charter member and big fan here. We use it for the usual (big shampoo, toothpast, laundry det, etc) but also keep a couple "real" wine glasses, a cutting board and a couple quality knives (we stay in studios without such amenities) And, while I think I drank the rest of it last time I will there, will be replenishing my bottle of Bombay Saphire that I leave in Fla:)

I haven't use this service yet but I was thinking it would be excellent for storing real dishware, flatware, etc for use in the studios that apparently are furnished with paper plates, styroform cups etc.

I know that when we buy into DVC I'll be using OL

Yes, it's perfect for real dishware. I especially dislike plastic utensils, so I have real forks, spoons, knifes in my OL to use in the studios. One other very important item in my OL is a feather pillow. :thumbsup2
Also a power strip, since DH and I both use our laptops, it seems there are never enough outlets.

I have been looking into it a little bit. I have heard good things but I am not totally sure it will work for me. If I make 1 trip a year it might work but are there are trial offers at all.
