Owners Direct??

Hi

Has anyone booked a villa from this website before?? Bit nervous as first time doing it DIY

You book and pay direct with the owners - so other than paying by credit card and your holiday ins there is no other protection like ABTA etc is there??

I am in the middle of a similar dilema myself - haven't looked at that site though. Will go check it out.

It is a nervy decision isn't it!?

Although I found out when globespan went bust that your ABTA is of limited use - it is ATOL protection - for package holidays - which seems to be more worth having. I was booked through a travel agent and they were only able to claim back for me through ATOL because I had a package (flight and car). I could have done that myself so not sure where the ABTA would have helped.

We have used Owners Direct before. The last time we went to Florida back in 2006 & last month to Portugal. Both times no problems.

Would have used them again for this year's trip but it worked out cheaper to book a Virgin package rather than flight,car & house for the 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year.

Hi there,

My best friend has advertised her villa on this site for the past five years without any problems ....... I guess it's down to the individual owner but she's been more than happy with the website and bookings and I certainly wouldn't hesitate to book via the site provided the ongoing correspondence with the owner felt right ...... at the end of the day they're more an advertising medium than a travel agent.

Booked villas direct with owners about 7-8 times now. Never had a problem.

I have booked a villa from this site - like you say its just an advertising site really - the owners have their very own very comprehensive website which is reassuring and e mail exchanges have been promptly responded to so feel happy about it - and who wouldnt be happy with a deluxe villa with large pool 3 bedrooms all the mod cons within 10 min of Disney for 12 nights in sept for £512!!!!!
