Hey quick question..........If you were to rent to someone say with in the 30 day mark and they cancelled the reservation your points go to holding, correct? Generally speaking if you make a reservation now for someone with in the 30 day mark and don't receive payment you stuck there as well? So I'm guessing if you were to book say, an August trip, payment should be made prior to the booking?????But then you have the potential to lose the reservation and not be able to book what the renters wanted.

Yep - if you're going to make a reservation for someone else within 30 days of arrival it would be wise to have the money up front since you will be penalized if you cancel.

In fact, there has been one situation, a number of years ago, where a member made a reservation for a renter and never received payment and never cancelled the reservation - always expecting that the payment would arrive the "next" day. They ended up losing their points and had nothing to show for it - not even a deposit.

Thanks, thats what I thought. Seems there are a few over on the rent/trade forum still trying to get August reservations. So my assumption was right thinking that the owners carry a lot of risk in that situation.
