Anyone watching and if so what are your thoughts?

I watched a couple of the behind the scenes shows last night and all I kept thinking was that the lighting in her offices was not flattering at all, everyone looked orange! Something is telling me that is not the first impression she was looking for.

I will watch her show that features Dr. Oz, Suze Orman and Dr. Phil though.

I watched a few things on it yesterday and early this morning when I woke up at an ungodly hour! I'll probably watch some of the same shows you plan on watching. I always liked listening to Gail king on XM radio on my way taking DD to school and back. I see she is going to have a show live each day at 10. I may tune into that on my days off sometimes and see what it is like.

I get 100s of channels (as most people do) and there seems to be nothing on I am interested in most of the time. I watch HGTV and FN quite often. I'm hoping she'll have something worth tuning into that isn't trash tv.

No, it's a basic channel on Dish. Channel 189.

But funny, I just went to the Dish website and they don't list it anywhere.

My 19 year old daughter's only comment was "oh no, not more Oprah!"

I have to confess, due to my work schedule the last 30 years, I have never seen Oprah, so I know she is huge, but when I last watched afternoon TV, Phil Donahue was the big show to watch!!

Not for me. I went to 189, after going to the OWN website to find what station it was supposed to be, and it says I have to upgrade to get it. It's in green on my guide and not included in my subscriptions.

I also don't get GAC, TCM, AMC, BIO, Game, etc. All part of a bigger package. Which is interesting since we have 400+ channels and I don't want to watch 375 of them but I would love some of the ones I don't get usually!

ETA: I don't get Animal Planet and didn't get Discovery, either, so since OWN is taking Discovery that makes sense.

I am also upset that OWN took over Discovery Health. Our cable providor, Verizon, carried Discovery Health which is now OWN. Last night I found most of the programs on a different channel called Fit. It seems to be a mix of the programs from Fit(exercise) and Discovery Health. I don't remember seeing Dr. Oz though. I would check but it is Football Sunday in my house right now! (of course....I am on the disboards.....)

Own didn't quite take over Discovery Health. The channel was not making money. The powers that be that own Discovery Health went to Oprah and they together with her are bring us OWN. It is a joint venture.

I doubt I'll watch it. I don't really care for her. I would have preferred to have kept Discovery Health. Couldn't they ahve given her one of the music or sports channels instead?

Me too....Loved Discovery Health just the way it was. I am not an Oprah fan so I probably won't be watching that channel ever again.

I loved Discovery Health channel too. But I have found one program on OWN that I have found interesting, called Miracle Detectives. I have watched a couple of behind the scenes episodes, but nothing has caught me attention except for this program.

I did find some of the shows on Fit TV today too...but I'll be perfectly honest, unless OWN has on Trauma: Life in the ER, I doubt I'll be watching it. Maybe, but who knows...

I am another Discovery Health Channel fan that is completely bummed out that it has changed to OWN. I'll probably never watch it.

Are all the DHC shows gone? Are any staying on OWN, or moving to other channels?

Might have been posted before, but Dr. G is now on my local FIT-TV channel. (kind if Ironic, don't ya think?)
I had to find that, never knew there was such a channel.

Overall, I think I like OWN, nice programs that interest me. I lke the Searching for ... program

I'm ok with OWN. I have read some of descriptions for the shows and I think "I'm Searching For" sounds the most interesting.
