I'm looking for some guidance and perspective...

Our family (DW, Me, DSons 6 & 5) currently own 570 points at BLT. We've added on once. We are interested in adding on again--I'm sure you are all surprised by that--and we are considering BCV, BWV, or VWL. In May, we had our first stay at BWV for SWW. We loved being able to walk to DHS and Epcot, the Boardwalk theme, and the area. We just returned from our first stay at VWL and really enjoyed the boat rides to MK and how relaxed and removed it felt. The decor was fantastic too. In January, my wife and I are taking a no-kid trip and will stay at BCV for the first time. Our plan is to add 150-200 more points at one resort so we can have 11 month priority and stay in 1BR units as our kids get bigger. I'm interested in the perceived pros and cons of each resort including the financial considerations. Our plan--We have only bought direct through Disney but plan to go the resale route on this one. I am beginning to read the disboards and watch prices. Most likely, we would start making offers in the Spring after we've visited BCV. Feel free tomlet me know if there is any other helpful info I can provide. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The theme pool at BCV is a huge draw. Your boys will soon be at an age where they will love it. I think that pool is a challenge for parents to monitor kids the ages your kids are now because it is so spread out (JMHO).
If you plan to visit during the Nov. - Dec. time period, then VWL would allow you to have the 11 month booking priority when it is important at that resort. VWL is very small and the holiday atmosphere there is very popular among DVCers.
BWV has the option of BW view (which may or may not be of value to you) for about the same number of points as a regular view at either VWL or BCV. BWV also has the standard view option for a real savings in points. Most standard view rooms at BWV actually have a nice view that may include some of the Epcot fireworks.
Your visits to each of these resorts will surely help you decide. Whichever you choose, be sure to check points charts to make sure you buy enough to cover your needs during the particular time period you might stay there.
Good luck! It is always great to have more points to book more Disney fun!

We own at BLT and VWL. We originally purchased at BLT, and added on at VWL later mainly because of the 11 month booking window for December. We also love being able to take the boat - especially over to fort wilderness. That said, if we add on again (which we will, probably sooner than later), we are going for BWV. I love the boardwalk atmosphere. BCV is hit or miss for me, while the pool is great, I don't like the views from the villas.

BWV is a bigger resort. If BW view or standard view are not important to you then I would look at BCV or VWL. Now other than at Christmas VWL is easy to get at 7 mos. BCV seems to always be in demand. So if views aren't important than I would suggest BCV. It also has better resale value. Good luck. I love them all and is why I own at all of them!

It doesn't matter what we think, it only matters what you think. Use your points for some split stay fact finding vacations. Only then will you know for sure what resort to buy.

We bought BLT based on other peoples input and it is our least favorite resort. We just don't care for the theming, quality of construction and furnishings. I also have a hunch that the dues will see a nice increase in the future.

BWV will be the biggest bang for your buck. Resale contract for that resort are selling for $50-65 per point, depending on how many points you buy. BCV is selling in the $80's. They both expire in 2042, so you are getting the same length contract.

We would like to add about the same amount of points as you someday, and we like BWV for the easy access to Epcot for F&W:cool1:! I don't want to spend a lot of money for that proximity, since we will only use it about every other year, so BWV will certainly meet our needs. The SAB pool is not enough of a draw for us to pay $25-35 more per point for an add-on.

Based on your current number of BLT points, I don't think I would add-on there given the current resale prices, unless you need more points to get a GV frequently.
