Overwhelmed! Ticket Question...

I am a FL resident (Tampa Bay Area) and I have family living in Orlando.

My DH and I want to take our 7yr old and 5yr old to the Animal Kingdom on THIS SAT OCT 21 and then head over to the Magic Kingdom for the evening. (leaving our baby with Nana for the day/evening) My dd is turning 7 and she always wants to do Disney instead of having a birthday party :wizard: .

I know for us to do a fl resident one day MYW ticket for each of us would be about $305. That would be simple - right?

The confusing part is - I HATE PAYING THAT MUCH FOR ONE DAY! It seems like I would get a much better price to get more 'days' now and use them later. Am I just getting in over my head here? I mean I do have a 4th child due in Feb - so I have to be careful not to pay for days I may never use.

The one thing I know we would PROBABLY do is Epcot in December for the Candle Light Processional and Liberty Tree Singers (I used to sing in that as a high school student when it was at MK and I would love take my DH to see it - and maybe the kids. LOL

I thought about getting a 3-day MYW + (no-expiration $15 each ticket/park hopping option - $22.50 each ticket) and it would cost more - but at least I would have those extra two days to use at a decent price and there would be no rush to redeem them.

Keep in mind - the gate price of a Florida Resident Seasonal Pass is $237.50 for adults and $209.81 for kids, including tax. That is very tempting, but I am not sure if it is better to go with non-expiring tickets in our situation. :confused3

OK - I am really going nuts considering my options. I hope this post is not to confusing but I really need some guidance. Disney Guru's please help me decide what to do!!! fish:

Thanks in advance!

If you go for the annual pass you may be inspired to visit WDW more often in the following year! The new baby would be free so I say go for it! Our baby loved strolling around MK back in the day! To me...it makes far more sense than buying a day's worth of passes. Also, you'll get annual passholder perks!

I agree. I would buy the FL annual pass. (In fact, that's what I do). There's not a doubt in my mind but what you'll be glad you did. There are several advantages to being an annual passholder, and living in Florida just makes it more likely that you'll be glad you did.

Enjoy.

ok - I may have to call disney and confirm this is even an option - but let me know if anyone thinks this would work...MORE QUESTIONS!

Lets say I get us all the 3-day Play Passes w/park-hopper and non-expiration option. (I just read online that I can add those to the FL 3-day -Play Pass).

There are no blackout dates on pass - that so I would be able to go in late Dec for the Epcot thing we want to do (candle light processional, etc) but then when I use that 3rd day I can decide if I want to upgrade to an annual pass or not at that time.

If I DO decide to upgrade - the original $600 I spent would go towards the cost of the APs right? (or would it just be the value of the 3rd unused day?) Also -would my seasonal annual pass begin at that time or does it technically expire one year from the date I got the original passes?

If I went w/the new magic your way passes I don't think you get the full value applied to your annual passes - it is pro-rated right?

I don't even know who to call to verify all this - is there a specific customer service number I need to use for these types of questions?

Thanks Again,

I think I would call since you have a couple scenarios that you are considering. I found this number on the WDW site under tickets -

I hope I am understanding your question right.

If you go ahead and buy the 3 day passes now, you will have 6 months from the day you FIRST used your pass to upgrade to seasonal or annual. You can use up all 3 tickets on the 3 day and STILL upgrade as long as it is in the 6 month time frame.

We just got our passes last week and I asked all these questions. I went ahead and bought the annual pass because I didn't want to forget about upgrading and lose out on the $ spent later.

We already have 2 more mini trips planned (2 day) for Christmas and the pirate and princess party.

I also want to note that the passholder room discounts are less than Florida residents.

You will also get 10% off the World of Disney Store in DTD.

All these little things add up over time.
