Overwhelmed/dining

PugLover, $850 sounds just about perfect. My fiancee and I this past September budgeted $100 a day to eat, plus an extra $100 for V&A's. It proved to be plenty. For a few meals we went over our entire daily budget (Jiko and V&A's), other days we spent maybe $50 to eat all day. We ate a quick Nutri-Grain bar for breakfast most days. Lunch was typically counter service. Most nights we had a sit down dinner with a drink and we didn't skimp in anyway on food.

Hi Hollymom1229 -

Thank you for sharing your budget. To me it is far easier to know ahead of time what the costs may be or at least have a really good idea on roundabout figures.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! 155 days will fly by. Our Sept trip to Disney is a belated 4th wedding anniversary trip for us (we were married on June 26, 1999). Are you getting married at Disney? My sister and brother in law (well, now brother in law) considered it for their August 2002 wedding but after researching the costs were able to get a better deal at the Sandals in the Bahamas (which was a lovely trip for all of us).

PugLover, I wish the wedding was at WDW, but I got shot down by my family, my fiancee, and the Catholic Church. It's going to be in Annapolis and the days our flying by. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Coming from the DC area I can tell you that Disney's prices are comparable to what you pay for two adults in a large city. September is great because the lines are virtually non-existent with the exception of Saturday at the MK. Have so much fun.

We live in NY so I am, sadly, aware of "big city prices". I spend a lot of time in New Orleans (my whole family lives there) and L.A. (for work and pleasure) so hopefully our budget is well equipped based on other cities we enjoy visiting and the cost.

I got married in NY and several times over the 18 months of planning, a destination wedding sounded *really* attractive, LOL. My sister on the other hand had her Bahamas wedding planned in one month (granted, only 24 guests) and the conceriege basically planned the whole thing for them.

My best advice... the best plans sometimes go off track a bit so just enjoy the day and the months leading up to it. At the end of the day you will be married and that is what counts ( even if they dont serve the correct appetizers at the cocktail hour that you spent MONTHS choosing and paying an extra 300.00 for).

:)
