overstock.com-what do you think?

Anyone have any experiences with overstock.com? I order stuff over the internet from sites like yankee cansdle, old navy, amazon, etc and have never had a problem.

What do you think about overstock-good prices, reasonable shipping times, quality products?? I was thinking about ordering some Christmas gifts and it says free shipping on everything this weekend (I haven't read the fine print yet).

I have purchased several items recently from Overstock and have been very pleased with quality and cost. I have recently noticed a thread on the budget board (I think) about them charging a restocking fee if you return an item. I haven't had to return anything so you might want to read about the restocking fee before you order, just to make sure. If you go through Sunshine Rewards now, you can get 12% off and free shipping. I have recently bought two apparel items on overstock.com and was happy with the fit, quality and design. Both were nicer than I expected and I love the $ 1.00 shipping.

I've only ever ordered books, cds and video games from Overstock.

I'd say they were okay. I've give them a 5 out of 10. That's only because of the slow shipping and such.

My 2004 Disney guide got lost in the mail, but that wasn't Overstock's fault. They made me wait well over a month before they could send me another one.
It arrived quickly, then several months later the original book showed up. Not Overstock's fault though.

I tried to order Nintendogs. It showed in stock. Overstock charged my card. I never got a shipping notice, so I checked my order status. It was still pending. I called Overstock only to be told that they never actually had Nintendogs in stock. It was on backorder. Their site when I called stated it was still in stock. I wasn't allowed to cancel the order. I just had to wait for it to arrive. If I wanted to return it I could. It arrived a month or so after it was supposed to arrive.

I'm currently waiting for my Alison Krauss cd. I ordered it the day before Halloween. It hasn't arrived yet.

The Zatch Bell calendar I ordered for my son for Christmas arrived really quick though.

I have ordered from them for years without any problems. I always find low prices on O. I've ordered books to furniture and have been very happy with the service.

I have not had to return anything, which has been the subject of other threads.

I had to return something (they sent me purple placemats instead of blue - ugh!) and it was an awful experience. They wouldn't refund my money, insisted on giving me a credit, and then the credit code wouldn't work.

It took me 4 months to get my money back.

Never Again!

I have used Overstock several times in the last few months. Have yet to be disappointed. I am usually ordering books, DVDs and CDs though- hard to be disappointed in those when you know exactly what you are getting. I did order a comforter cover and it was fine- esp for $25! And DH is enamored with their men's blazers, sport coats and slacks- he has gotten some STEALS and so far, they all are good quality and fit him well. He just ordered $140 worth of stuff last Weds- I hope they are good too. Haven't had a problem with shipping either- usually here within a week, often just a couple days!

Check over on the Budget Board. A lot of people have posted lately about their hideous return policy. I guess if you don't need to return something they are OK but I wouldn't chance it - I could just see them sending me the wrong thing and then trying to charge me a restocking fee to return/exchange it.

We use them a LOT! with very good luck. We haven't had to return much, but their overall great prices make up for the occasional restocking fees.

Overstock is great but I have only ordered books and stuff through them! I use them over amazon alot of the time becuase reward sites will pay you to shop through overstock!

We have ordered from Overstock.com on many occassions and have never had any issues. Great place with good prices.

2 years ago I purchased 2 pearl necklaces, one for my mom and one for my mil for Christmas. If the flawed one was the only one I had gotten, I would have been fine with it as they were such a good price. But the other one was flawless and they just couldn't be compared. So I sent one back and got charged the restocking fee. I did get a return shipping label from them so I didn't have to pay shipping. But I was not happy paying the 15% restocking fee! I had also ordered my 1000 count sheet set from them and the shipping was really slow, it took 6 weeks to get them and I really needed sheets! But I'll admit, I LOVE these sheets, so they were worth the wait.

I've never ordered from them, but I've heard about lots of problems from them. There's at least one post about them over on the Budget Board. Overstock is supposed to be bad about returns and stuff. I would just stick to other companies myself.
