Two of my girls overpronate. I am looking for flip flops for them for the summer and possibly for our trip in December. Does anyone have any suggestions? They wear New Balance shoes and insoles.

TIA!!

I don't know about the benefits specifically for overpronators but I have a pair of Teva Mush flip flops which have a thick, squishy, light weight foot pad and a lightweight woven band on top. They offer more support than a traditional flip flop but they're super light weight so you dont get that annoying cramp in the top of your foot from grabbing with your toes with each step. I cannot stress how much I love these flip flops. They are the only flip flops that I can tolerate wearing for long periods of time and although I brought another pair of cute, traditional plastic flip flops with me on the trip we just returned from, I regretted wearing them after only one day in the park. Back to the Tevas! DD7 prefers flip flops (like myself) because we hate sweaty feet. I found on this last trip where she did the most walking out of any prior trip (less stroller use) she complained that her heels hurt at the end of the day and I regretted not buying her a pair of Mush's like mine. I got her Teva Zirra sandals instead and while those worked well initially, the straps wore a sensitive almost-blister on each of her little toes.

Idk about flip flops but when my dds wore inserts we were able to get some sandals from stride rite that had a little lip on the back. We took the insole out and put their inserts in. The shoes were great. They could be washed and had rubber soles which made them safe for the play ground.

Chaco - not sure what sizes they come in but they are one of the only flip flops with good support.

Orthaheel! Also called Vionics. They changed my life! They are specifically made to correct overpronation. They are pricey but worth every cent.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have plenty to look at now! My MIL wears orthaheel. She loves them!

OP- if you come up with any great finds, post back!!! My DD currently is in sure steps, but I have wondered about finding something for "short" time periods that wouldn't just be terrible on her feet. I do feel so bad that she has to wear shoes, and socks in addition to her braces. It's going to be SO hot this summer!

Just googled orthaheel.... man, it's a shame they don't come in kids' sizes!
