Overpaid points if 7-day waitlist comes through

Hi all. I Booked the first three nights of our vacation at Animal Kingdom Jambo savannah view 1-br. It was the only resort with 3 consecutive nights that last week of October and I really needed to book the plane with confidence. I waitlisted Boardwalk 1-br for those same 3 nights. Boardwalk is 6 points less for that 3-night stay than AK.

If it comes through within 7 days of the trip, what happens to those extra 6 points? Do they go into holding? I'm using almost 3 years of points (banked, current, borrowed) to pay for the entire 8 night stay. The AK booking was the last one I did, so those are the borrowed points. My UY is August. So the points are Aug 2016 borrowed.

The points will go into holding inside of 31 days, so it won't matter if they were banked, borrowed, or current year. Either way, they will need to be used before the end of your 2015 use year, so by July 31, 2016 with an August use year.

Ok, so I'd essentially lose 6 points, as I'm not going back again before they'd expire. On the plus side, I'd be at a much cooler resort with convenience to two parks. Thanks!
