Trying to firm up travel plans for our upcoming trip end of October. This will be our second drive down from southern New Jersey, first time hauling our new TT. Planning on leaving middle of the night on Wed, 10/28. DH thinks he can drive until maybe mid to late day Thursday with the plan to stay overnight with hopefully only a few hours left in our trip for Friday morning. Looking at the I-95 exit guide we are hoping to be around Florence, SC ?? Anyone have any campground suggestions for the night?

We are driving down from Massachusetts next week. We are leaving at 3:00 AM and driving 13 hours. We are stopping at Fayetteville/Wade KOA. We will get back on the road at 8:00 AM and drive 9 more hours to the Fort.
I went on koa.com and they show a map of each state with their campgrounds. And how close they are off the highway. Ours is right off of 95

There is a nice KOA in Florence. It is either at or near the TV Road exit. We have stayed there several times... the last being on our way home from Disney last year. It is pretty close to being halfway between our home and the Fort. We camped there for the race at Darlington for a number of years until we found a hookup thru a friend right across the street from the track.

We drive down from southern nj as well. However we usually leave at 4am and drive as far as we can. Fayetville is very doable. we've even made it to Savannah before calling it a night. We however usually just crash at a walmart parking lot. No need for us to set up camp, we just want to get there! Then get up and go around 7am and usually arrive in disney around lunchtime or a little after.

we do a similar route we leave central nj around 3 am and usually go to the savanha ga koa we travel with a 32 ft tt and dogs so we make several stops for driver and passenger potty breaks but pull in around 8-9 pm long day but next day is a shorter one to the mouse the koa is right off 95 and very easy to get on and off if you are going over the summer you may want to book a site we usually go between oct and jan area so has not been a problem just pulling in

....hmmm, I thought getting to Georgia straight thru would be impossible, with the stretch, food and bathroom breaks.....although we DID do that in 2007 , but NOT towing ;)

We are going end of October so guess NOT the busy season. Im hesitant to make a reservation anywhere, in case we are OK and can go further in that moment.

Guess, will get some places and addresses down, and just play it by ear....

Left from Central, MA last night at Midnight and made it to Ashland, VA at 12 noon....traffic on 95 in Virginia was horrible and slow. Staying at a koa that looks to be the drive in now crowd leave early tomorrow. We are leaving from hear to travel to Savannah and are staying at Fort McCallister State park. This may be doable for you from Jersey and is then 5 to 6 hours away from the fort the next day.

Have fun

We drive a MH from Long Island NY and will stay overnight at Flying J in Latta SC. We can make it to the fort in the afternoon. It works well for us.
