Overly/Annoyingly patriotic?

I was wondering if some UKers who have been to WDW could help me, i was wondering if the US patriotic shows, such as Hall of Presidents & American are still enjoyable for non-americans or if they are too over the top for other nationalities to enjoy them?

I didn't find anything too bad. At Sea World during one show, they asked all service men and women to stay up and everyone clapped. That felt a little weird.

But I'm in two minds about this. A lot of people moan about the Americans, but I see nothing wrong with having pride in your country. We Brits now hide from any flag waving in case we're accused of having some far right link. That's a real shame.

we are from the uk and make a point of going to both every year.
most americans show more pride in their country than we brits ever do.

just to clarify i have nothing against america or americans, my question is not from someone who has an unamerican outlook but just isn't american and thus being told that "we" are amazing will not have any emotional effect.

I know what you mean; we did find American Adventure (Epcot) a bit over the top at the end - we weren't sure 'what to do' we stood up too, out of respect but felt a bit 'awkward', but enjoyed on the whole.

Not done the Presidents yet; but keep saying we will now kids are older - we'll try again this year!

I am all for it - the American anthem even brings tears to my eyes! But then so does Wishes, driving under the arch, checking in, checking out ... ... ...

I envy the Americans, whether they are right or wrong they love there country and flag.
Shame our country didnt do what it wanted and stuff the rest of them a bit more imho

I sent my friend in usa a dish towel with the scottish flag on it, she e-mailed me saying thanks and said it was hangin gon the wall, I said " Kim its a tea towel" she said" I would never disrespect your flag by drying dishes with it"
Gotta love the Americans.

I haven't been in either for years, but they both remind me of my dad - he absolutely LOVED America and the Americans, so much so that he sold up and moved to Florida, but he always had a good nap in both HOP and the American Adventure - bless him!!!
