Overlooked Resturants

well I thought I had three great ones that no one would have said however, each one was addressed:

one of our most pleasant surprises was The Trails End buffeteria. good, down home fried chicken. very reasonably priced. one of the better dining values on site
Less than $10 and an all you can eat to book.

If you're looking for good "fast food" on your trip, a must for my family is Puck's Express at Downtown Disney. Great fire-brick pizzas, sandwiches AND mac & cheese!
(we purchase the half roasted chicken and garlic mashed potatoes dinner and share it. less than $10)

I don't care what anyone says, that little taco joint in Adventureland - something like Pirata y Perico - they have great fast food.
Was my third one, but it is not always open. If it is try it!

I love that place!!! It wasn't open the last time I was there, though. :(

I don't know how *overlooked* it is, but I really enjoyed lunch at Morroco. There was hardly anyone there, and the food was wonderful!

I have to say that I have enjoyed both meals I have had at Spoodles and have been quite surprised to not see more people rave about this restaurant. I have never gone for dinner, but twice I have had great lunches!! Wonderful salads, nummy pizzas. I think it is a great break to the day to spend some time on the Boardwalk. They also have WONDERFUL lemonade and ice teas. I would certainly recommend this restaurant!

I also have to agree with The Plaza in MK. In the 20 something times I've been to MK over the years I never knew it was a full service restaurant. I somehow discovered it (actually from looking at the menus on Deb's site). We tried it back in December when it was a cold, dreary day (can you imagine that in the MK??)...what a great place to warm up, have a nice lunch and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. Next time I'm sure it'll be a great place to cool off and enjoy some iced tea!!

I also agree with Gulliver's at the Swan. We've had dinner there several times and it's always been very good. Whether ordering off the menu or having the buffet, it's a nice dinner (plus it has characters!)

TEB (Trail's End Buffeteria) at FW Campground is a good one too. It occasionally shows up on this thread but it is a really good value for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is good and the service is very friendly.

WOW...here I thought I was posting something that would not get alot of responses....THEY HAVE BEEN GREAT.

For as many times as we have gone to WDW, it is really nice to see others opinions and views on diffrerent restuarants.

I actually have one of my own...its the River Roost at POR..
Yes the food does come from Boatrights, but after a long day, it is very relaxing to sit and eat a few appetizers, a few drinks, and then order a sandwich in the bar. The steak sandwich is huge, tasty and comes loaded with onion rings.

Keep the "Overlooked Restuarants" coming.

Maya Grill at CSR.....outstanding each and every time I've been there.

We continuously go back to Kimonos in the Swan and Big River Brewing Co. on the Boardwalk. Excellent food!

Oh, and Gulliver's has the BEST Caesar salads I've ever had.

For counter service: El Pirata Y el Perico in MK and Yakotori House in Japan.

I have to agree with Puck's Express for overlooked counter service. DH and I have eaten there twice and we have not been disappointed. A good value for some really good food. :)

The Garden Grill used to be one of my favorite overlooked places but since I have come back to the board recently to plan my next trip I have seen that it has apparently been discovered during my absence. :)

in Morocco at EPCOT. We thought the food and service were both exceptional and it seems to be overlooked. Before you enter, there is a small table with a book of pictures of all the meals. Walk in and take a look; I think you will like it.

Hi all,
this is my first post here. I've enjoyed reading all the good tips. I can agree with Olivia" (we have been dvc at OKW since 1994 and love it), and I would add Kringola Bakery for yummy open faced sandwiches, Yakitori in Japan and the fast food in Morrocco is worth it with a nice dessert and coffe area(baklavalI'm greek and its not bad).
Connears

My two have already been mentioned--Kimonos and Trail's End. Love them both!

Morocco at Epcot!!!! Every time I've eaten there, I've nearly had the place to myself. The food is wonderful with large portions, fresh ingredients and flavors that wake up your taste buds.

The restaurant in the clubhouse for Osprey Ridge & Eagle Pines is the "Sandtrap Grill & Bar."

It has always been a favorite for us. The prices are decent, and they have great sandwiches and salads! They have really good "onion straws" that they bring out in a small bucket (driving range bucket)

They also have inside & outside dining. If it's nice out - their tables outside are REALLY nice. They're under an overhang with ceiling fans, overlooking the course and a nice water fountain...

Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. We have eaten and at Marrekesh and we think the food is actually better at the Tangierine Cafe - and a whole lot cheaper!! They have enormous portions and, even though it's a counter service place, more exotic choices. On a nice day, sit outside in the courtyard area and you will have lots of fun people watching!! This is the first restaurant we head for when we arrive at WDW.

Yes! One of our favorites (going there while on our trip next week). Use to be quite a "secret"....never any trouble getting a table whenever you showed up.

Beth Thanks for the tip.:)
Galahad Have you tried Maya Grill since the menu was changed? Just wondering Haven't seen much feedback. Thanks:)

I think the Maya Grill is overlooked. We actually ate there the very night it opened, and the food was fab!! I think the menu has recently been changed, but I'd recommend it anyway.
