I doubt I'd get to number 28, personally.Make sure and post the pic when the 28th overflowing can shows up![]()
Agree. The trash can should be emptied, 100%. But like, just go tell someone instead of staging a photo shoot then making a post here. Shrug.
Food Service CMs don't empty trash cans. They don't do walk throughs, either. CMs don't generally enjoy being informed about issues with other departments. They have enough to deal with doing their assigned duties. What would have been FAR more helpful and mean so much to a CM, would be a quiet word, I know you must be having a hard time today, and but you might want to check the trash cans over there, they might have been missed on the last walk through.

You'd think, right? It would be very easy to find a custodial department cm or even a lead

We sure did. And we had plenty of time to do it, while the garbage can sat there, overflowing, with guests dumping uneaten food into the recycling garbage can, and then just moving on, the whole time. You went out of your way to stage a photo shoot, you went out of your way to put them on blast all over the internet, why could you not have gone out of your way to find a custodial cm and give a discreet mention to the overflowing bin.
Oh wait, that would not get you attention on the internet!
It's another communication channel. Do you really think Disney will intentionally ignore this issue out of spite, just because I posted about it?Again, putting them on blast on the internet is all about getting attention for you, and nothing to do with actually fixing the problem.

I can just imagine the conversation they are having about this:
"How dare they post a photo of one of our overflowing garbage cans online?"
"Yeah, we need to teach those annoying guests a lesson. Let's cut the Custodial Budget in half just to show them what happens when they mess with us!"
"Brilliant idea! And then we'll send them to Legoland the next time they try to enter the park..."
Honestly? I think you’re taking this way too seriously. As someone who gets paid to deal with trolls like you on Google reviews and social media for my clients, people like you make our day, we laugh at people like you, as we know its all for the attention and that if you actually cared about solving the problem you would find a more discreet, offline way. This is actually fun, as I don't have to be professional and can tell you exactly what people think of you.
It's Disney's park, and it's Disney's garbage can. I didn't personally stuff it full of garbage, and I didn't fail to empty it.As someone who gets paid to deal with trolls like you on Google reviews and social media for my clients, people like you make our day, we laugh at people like you, as we know its all for the attention and that if you actually cared about solving the problem you would find a more discreet, offline way.
The point was the photo, the location and the time. With every additional post, it gets bumped to the top. I'm fine with that. Thanks for helping.I think whatever the point of the original post was, its become less effective with each post by the OP. Maybe just time to move along....
Come on, despite cutting back the past 7-8 years on so many events, attractions, services that we have loved for so many years....the parks are packed. Despite all the letters people write or simply deciding not to patronage Disney anymore, there is always going to be someone to replace each of us. I wish you were right, but that philosophy never works unless everyone participates. It's like when they tell everyone to not buy gasoline on a certain day to send OPEC a message. It would probably work, but it can't be achieved because people are going to buy gas and they are going to keep going to WDW. Many of them don't even know how great it used to be.Fait Accompli? I chose to believe otherwise. I think Disney could do better if they were sufficiently motivated. Maybe if the guests were advocates for higher standards, that would be somewhat motivating?
Too true. We do need more robust competition in this space as well.Come on, despite cutting back the past 7-8 years on so many events, attractions, services that we have so loved for so many years....the parks are packed. We decided to do Food and Wine bites for our dinner once... that ended up costing us over $250 dollars for 4 people... Never again. They make so much money off the festival foods.Woah, what did you buy? $130 for snack food and drink? Or was that a sit down meal?
While I’m not saying things are declining at Disney in general I am saying one full trash can is not the sign that things have gone to hell in a hand basket. It’s our bad timing on your part. A pattern is not made by a single incident. I’ll knock them when they deserve it. A single full trash can doesn’t make that listOK, how many overflowing trash cans are acceptable in front of the American pavilion, in full view of everyone? Today, perhaps just one. Tomorrow, maybe two will be OK? Maybe, eventually, as long as you can find one, someplace, with some available space, that's acceptable?
Have you ever heard the phrase "Declining by Degrees?" Google that + Kevin Yee (because I probably cannot post a direct link here.) It's not like I'm the first person that has noticed the lowering standards at Disney. And it will continue as long as they can get people to pay without too many complaints.
