Overflow lot

We go down Thanksgiving night after dinner and stay at Turkey Lake in the overflow lot there. It's basically a grass field with no power but it's safe and behind a gate. You can make a ressie and they will give you the gate code over the phone when you get close. We usually just pull in and go to bed so we don't miss having the electric. You can also get a ressie for a site. It's $15 for a site and $10 for overflow.

I want to thank everyone for your advise. I think I will keep calling and checking online to see if I can get that extra day. If not, maybe we will try that tropical palms. Has anyone stayed at a resort with their camper for one night? Will they let you stay at a resort if your towing a fifth wheel?

I have a feeling you will be able to get your ressie for the Fort. It will take a little doing, but bet you can do it.
Great advice from des1954 about KOA. I too have heard it's BAD NEWS. If you don't get the early date as you want, (which you will), why don't you check into the Fort the day before your official checkin and leave your rig in the overflow lot and just take the bare essentials with you to one of the resorts to spend the night via the bus? Then check in early in the AM or head to the parks and then over to the Fort later? Just another thought amongst the rest.

In 2008, spring break, we arrived at 4:30 AM, checked in and parked in the overflow lot. Went to early opening at EPCOT and then came back around 2:00 PM, got our site and set up. Then took a nap

Hi everyone, I'm in need of your input or advise. We will be arriving the day after Thanksgiving, which is one day earlier than we had initially planned when we made the reservation. Unfortunately I found out tonight we couldn't get a site for that night. Will we be able to park in the overflow lot there for the night? If that's not an option I'll take all the ideas you have.:idea: Thanks

Stay in Jax and then it's a two hour drive to check in early. We now plan a 4 or 5 day stay at NAS JAX just because we can;

Hi again everyone, thanks for all the advise :thumbsup2. Still holding out that I get the extra day for our vacation. I check the Disney and AAA websites daily to see if I can get 11/27/09 :surfweb:. If it happens I can't get that day, does anyone know if they would let me just park the fifth in overflow and stay at one of the value resorts like Flafortcampster said. I know I'm spoiled rotten, just love staying on Disney. I'm just so excited for this trip; first time to see Disney in it's Christmas spendor and hoping the Disney magic :wizard: brings back some of that Christmas spirit. :santa:

There should be no problem parking your rig at the resort you stay at. You may have to walk a little ways, but all of the value resorts should have a place to use. Old Key West is the only one that I can think of that you simply couldn't park at... but that's not a Value!

:santa:
