Hi all from Taunton, Somerset, England! I was in the WISH challanges some time ago but have fallen off the wagon. Finding it hard to see where to start again from all the posts below - does anyone have any idot guides for me as to how to restart - challanges, clip art, logs?

I am 5.2 and weigh 10.3 stone (143 lb). I was to get down to 9 stone (126 lb) - ideally before October, which is when OH and I not only go on holiday to cuba (bikini!!! argh!!) but try to concieve our first child!!

I also stopped smoking this week and am finding it hard to keep on that wagon too!!

Thans so much!!

First of all, welcome back!!

You've taken on a lot, with quitting smoking AND trying to lose weight. It may be better to focus on one or the other - I vote for giving up smoking first, especially if you're starting to think about having children.

Maybe you can focus on drinking more water or getting out for a daily walk as a good first step to keeping your weight stable while you quit smoking.

Best wishes!

Hi Kirsty and Welcome Back!!

I agree with Doe... concentrate on quitting smoking and then focus on losing the weight. I think the two together will be tough. Maybe start a journal and focus on the eating right and go from there.

Good luck!!!

Thanks for the welcome back guys and the advice! My problem is we are going to start to try for a family in october (while we are on holiday), and before then I want to try and lose as much weight as I can towards my goal weight, to give my body the best chance of a healthy pregnancy and the best chance to get back to a reasonable size afterwards. As for the smoking, I of course need to do this for myself and the baby too, but I dont think I have enough to just concentrate on one or the other - ah well, a little pressue focuses the mind wonderfully :-)

You know I am also 5' 2" and I am in the 130 range. You are not that off ......How about quitting smoking now........and in the months of your pregnancy ask your doctor a good diet to follow and you can maintain your weight and the food can go to the baby.......I know a few ladies that were mildly overweight and the doctor put them on a good diet for both them and the baby.....good luck and I was a smoker 20 years ago and it is a hard thing to quit.......if you need help come and see us.alot of good ladies here that can keep US ALL FOCUSED.....

FYI the clippies are at the top. I know you can do it! :)

PM me if you need specific links.
