Over the river and through the FUN!

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who has discussions in their heads. :rotfl: I do that so much! Particularly if we're driving out to Ohio and I've gotten tired of just listening to my music, or I'm doing some of the driving and there's no music and everyone else is conked out.

My dad does a lot of driving for work and he has devised lots of ways to pass the time, like adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing license plate numbers in his head. He was explaining to me one time how the best license plates are the ones that start and end with an even number and come out even when you add them all up. Actually, I think it might have been a little more complicated than that. I just know that even numbers were good.

So, your March trip is on? :yay:

Sometime this afternoon, Katie sent me a picture from the Soarin' queue. :lovestruc I was so excited, and it made me think of you and hope that you get to go!

I am in a questionable state of mind. I don't know whether to purchase my airline tickets now for our Disney trip in June or wait a little bit more and see if the prices will go down. We have two airports to choose from. One is St. Louis and the other is Memphis. St. Louis went down by 50%--that is why I think I should buy them now and Memphis went up $200 since a couple of days ago. I am afraid if I wait that prices will go back up over $1000 where they have been. My husband says I should just go ahead and purchase the St. Louis ones and be done with it and as I am typing this I am inclined to do just that tomorrow afternoon but I needed some sound advice from others who have traveled more frequently than us.

We were almost to 80 here in Southern Illinois--at least that is what my weather website said. In fact it said we will be back down into the 40s by Thursday....NO!!!! I want this warm weather to remain. My daughter has track and softball starting up and I really don't want to sit out in the cold.

Thanks for letting me ramble.

You can put your trip in www.farewatcher.com. They predict whether fares will go up or down. I used them, and so far they are right - I purchased 60 days ago, because they said our fare would start going up a little. I was going to wait for a little bit better price, but it never came, so I'm glad I booked when I did.

I always have conversations in my head or out loud. I was an only child till I was 34. :lmao:

Sometimes I'm amazed at how my mind gets to certain points - the pathways it must follow. :rotfl:

When you said that Brooklynn always makes the same comment at certain points in a movie, it reminded me of my boys on our drive up to Pennsylvania. My in-laws live up there and so we travel the same roads fairly often. It never fails that EVERY time we get to a certain bridge, one of the boys will comment, "I know we're almost there now!" or something to that affect. NEVER FAILS. As soon as we get on the bridge I look at Chuck and say quiety, "Wait for it. Waaaaiiiiittttt for it." :rotfl:

The funny thing is it's still another 30 - 45 minutes from the bridge to my in-laws house. :confused3

What fun you had with Brooklynn and her toys. :cloud9:

It so funny that she says the same thing at parts in the movie, my kids did the same thing. It always astounded me that they could watch the exact same movie over and over again and not get tired of it.

Aaron loved Homeward Bound and would get so upset at the end. He would say " Oh no, I hope he comes home..." He would be so concerned and I would say "it's okay, he comes over the hill, you know he does." Every time, every time. ;)

Lexi on the other hand has a golden memory, she has memorized everything she has ever seen or done. She is my little 'journal', if I can't remember something. She was obsessed with a movie called Motorcrossed ...:confused3 a little weird I thought, but it was her favorite. :rotfl: I wonder if she would watch it now and still like it. :rotfl:

I remember so fondly going to our kid consignment sale in Auburn with my good friends. I couldn't believe the fantastic deals. I got so many beautiful clothes for Lexi. :thumbsup2

I never put Aaron in anything but new clothes. I got over that with Lexi. She even wore store brand diapers...oh the shame. :lmao: I was such a different Mom with my first. Overly protective and I steralized everything for years. Maybe I'm to blame for these rebellious teenage years of his. :rotfl2:

It seems we all talk to ourselves and have conversations in our minds. :grouphug:

Ahh, MeMom. We all do that crazy stuff in our head. Sometimes I have no idea how I even got on the path tow hat I'm currently thinking about! :rotfl2:

I love that Brooklynn says the same things during movies, super cute! :cutie:

Aww MeMom, you're too much with that little convo to yourself  Worrying about little Bella before she even arrives, what a wonderful grandma! :cutie:

/
I love seeing all the day to day pictures of Brooklynn, she is just so cute!
I'm glad she had fun playing in the snow!

We had about 10 inches last Sunday night and no school Monday.
But this weekend it was in the 60s. Yesterday was weird with warm temperatures and the sun shining, and the ground covered in snow. Today its pretty much melted though!

I haven't seen that Buzz & Woody area at DHS.
That looks neat. Lots of great pictures!
And the Osborne lights look amazing.

Jill, the cake at your shower is so cute!

Memom, I really hope you get to go back to Disney this month. pixiedust:

That would be hilarious!

There is one show I stumbled upon showing principals interacting with students. I watched a little of it. Some of it looked legitimate, but some of it looked like teenagers trying to ham it up a little for TV's sake.

You do not have to bring me anything!! And please don't!! My lips are sealed

April 7th - check....what is it again that I'm supposed to mark it for? The baby or your return . Sorry I'm sure I know but just not coming to me :headache:

I LOVED this.....thank you for sharing :goodvibes

So sweet!! And good to know I'm not the only one that has discussions in my head

The 7th is when Bella will be here to show us how cute she is! :goodvibes

so cute!

 poor memom! i know this is gonna be my mom when ray and i have a kid. i have a feeling she's going to be making more trips to georgia!

you are so funny! thanks for sharing. now i don't feel so odd for having conversations with myself.

this one's my favorite.

It's good to know I'm not the only one talking to myself!

Yes, your mom will do more traveling to GA when that baby gets here. She'll probably have him/her out in the backyard swinging a golf club instead of swinging on a swingset!

I know how you feel. This is what I do when we have to talk Mom back to the airport! I usually am crying as we are walking out. But I'm glad you were able to spend the day with Brooklynn! It sounds like you have a wonderful day together!

We had a great day together. At one point, we were on the couch, and she was laying on my arm. I looked down and just said, "I love you, Brooklynn." She grinned and said, "Love you, too." So sweet.

I am going to miss chasing her around Disney World. I hope I can find my way around without her guidance. :cutie:

sounds like lots of girl fun with Brooklynn today! I am sure you are so sad leaving your girls--- I almost cried thinking about how hard that would be, especially when she wants you to stay!

Yes, and that's one of the reasons I've struggled even more with this trip. I have no problem shelling out big bucks for all three of us, but putting out money just for me to have fun seems not as right.

I'm going to bring back the magic to whatever degree I can through pictures, videos, and then our little Disney party when I get back.

I've thought about the title for the new trip report. I think I've decided on
A Two Too Short Spring Trip Report, since it'll be a short trip and I'll be missing my two girls. I'm throwing ideas around. That report should carry us all the way until it's time to go in July!

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who has discussions in their heads. I do that so much! Particularly if we're driving out to Ohio and I've gotten tired of just listening to my music, or I'm doing some of the driving and there's no music and everyone else is conked out.

Since I have to do Math all week, I'll pass on adding it to my drive time. I'll stick with less intelligent things like how many Clarks I know. Where did that come from???

It looks like we will be going. We'll leave at 6:30 a.m. next Wednesday, if all goes well.

I hope we get to ride Soarin' twice on Epcot day!

That's great to know. Thanks for sharing that. I got mine as soon as they came out. As long as I have a way down there, I'm good. I don't worry nearly as much about flights coming back!

I always have conversations in my head or out loud. I was an only child till I was 34. :lmao:

That's funny!
Did your little brother/sister get to wear your hand-me-downs? :rotfl:

Sometimes I'm amazed at how my mind gets to certain points - the pathways it must follow.

When you said that Brooklynn always makes the same comment at certain points in a movie, it reminded me of my boys on our drive up to Pennsylvania. You need to meet my friend, Kay, then, because we always laugh at her and her conversations. Conversationally, she starts in one country, does a loop around another, gets lost in the ocean somewhere, and then ends up totally losing what she ever started talking about. It's just her. I've never met anyone else that gets so sidetracked in my life!

When we went on our trip right before Brooklynn was born, at one one point she was sitting on the bus having a very involved conversation with a total stranger about her brother-in-law. The lady looked completely trapped.

I pretended I was with another family. :rotfl:

What fun you had with Brooklynn and her toys. :cloud9:

It so funny that she says the same thing at parts in the movie, my kids did the same thing. It always astounded me that they could watch the exact same movie over and over again and not get tired of it.

It seems we all talk to ourselves and have conversations in our minds. :grouphug:

Our summer camp kids used to beg to watch Homeward Bound. We watched it many, many times.

Brooklynn's got one of those amazing memories, too. Yesterday, she saw a picture of a book on the back of another book in the same set. She wanted to read it, and Jill told her she'd have to go find it. Brooklynn led her to the garage and went straight to it in a box in storage. I still will never forget when we went on our last March trip and stayed at All Star Movies, and as we walked to the bus stop at All Star Music, she said 'biscuit' when we passed the food court. That's where we had eaten a biscuit on the December trip. This kid was like one and half, and she remembered eating a biscuit there.

Those good memories will serve these little girls well in school. Brooklynn will be smarter than MeMom by the time she is five, if not sooner!

Aren't teenagers just an amazing species of beings???
It seems they do come around in time, though, so hang in there.

Ahh, MeMom. We all do that crazy stuff in our head. Sometimes I have no idea how I even got on the path tow hat I'm currently thinking about! :rotfl2:

I love that Brooklynn says the same things during movies, super cute! :cutie:

Thanks for trying to make me feel better about my insanity level!

Aww MeMom, you're too much with that little convo to yourself  Worrying about little Bella before she even arrives, what a wonderful grandma! :cutie:

I hope I'm a decent grandmother. I want the girls to grow up feeling very comfortable with me and having great memories of our silly and fun times together.

I love seeing all the day to day pictures of Brooklynn, she is just so cute!

Ten inches is great! We would have gotten a lot more than a Monday out of that!!!

Have you ever seen the Osborne Lights in person? If not, maybe you can do that someday. I know the kids would love seeing them.

***************************

Okay, now that I'm caught up with everyone, I'm going to go find some Epcot pictures to share. Back in a few.

The next morning, we opened Epcot.

I thought I should get one last picture of the two year Year of a Million Dreams signs.

This guy was cutting up with the guests.

I have seen him in other people's pictures and videos, so I think he's a seasoned CM.

John doesn't understand why we like to be at every rope drop we can be at.

This is one of the reasons.

We are personally welcomed by some special friends, which starts our day out so nicely.

At Epcot, we want to get there at rope drop so that we can join the droves of people trotting to Soarin'.

IMG_0219.jpg

IMG_0220.jpg

However, on this particular trip, with Jill pregnant and my leg getting progressively worse with time, we were doing a little less than trotting.

She's still got a little way to go, but she is inching ever nearer to being able to ride this.

IMG_0222.jpg

I already have 'dibs' on her first ride on this - my favorite ride!

We got a Baby Swap pass, and forged ahead.

IMG_0223.jpg

Put everything in the compartment below, including these little beauties.

A thumbs up for the kid who does his seat belt correctly.

oh, so close! i was so happy that luke got to ride it. he was a little unsure but he did fine and said "cool" about a million times. :goodvibes

this is my favorite part. for some reason i just love getting that close to the water and at sunset.....so pretty!

one of my favorite memories of our december trip is anna looking at me during soarin and saying, "i don't want it to end!" :)

Loveee all your Epcot pictures! The Christmas topiaries in the front of the park are too cute. I want to make it to AT LEAST one rope drop when we go in April (preferably more but I don't want my BF to hate me by the end of the trip  ) so we can see the characters come out and interact like this. And seeing all the pictures of the CMs make me want to be one really badly, thats probably the best job in the World (and world!) :goodvibes

Awwww Memom, you're so great for driving down and helping out :goodvibes I am sure Brooklynn just loves when you come over and play! Glad Jill found some goodies at the children's consignment store....I just love those places!!!! Hugs to you for the parting cry....sometimes its good to cry rather than bottle it up though. :lovestruc Your conversation is very familiar...so trust me you are not crazy...hahaha!:rotfl2:

How did you get such good Soarin pics without a flash? I can't wait to ride it in Nov! :3dglasses

I bet Brooklyn will be ready to ride in July!!! :goodvibes

I am so impressed that you can take pics on Soarin'! I am afraid of heights so I grip the handlebars the whole time -- it's my favorite ride at Epcot though -- my favorite scene is the aircraft carrier and my favorite smell is the orange one. Oh, I can't wait to ride it again!!!

Great reason to be at rope drop! Brooklynn is so close to be able to ride Soarin'! I bet it will be soon! I think Hannah is around 40" now, so we should be good in June. This is one ride I'm really looking forward to!

Thank you for the Soarin pics Memom! We did a little too much traveling this weekend and this pregnant body is worn out, physically and emotionally. The pics brought a smile to my to my heart and a tear to my eyes. It also gave me enough life to make trek upstairs to bed!

I have pictures of that epcot CM with the football!! Isn't he HILARIOUS!! I just died laughing when he was teasing people in line! Thanks for the soarin pics. Just today DAvid and I were talking about Soarin when we were driving home and listening to Illuminations! Can't wait to be there!

I think it may be my favorite part, too. Just makes me want to dip my feet into the water as we go over. It might be cool if they could even rig that up as part of the ride somehow, although it might make for a lot of stinky feet smell if everyone took their shoes and socks off to ride! :)

I remember you saying that about Anna before. I always love it when we take someone new and they love it, too. Jarvis rode it and thought it was cool. He said, "Whoa now!" when the golf ball flew at him.

Yes, at least one rope drop. With the luxury of Disney transportation, you could always go early without him and let him come when he wakes up.

I'd love to work in Animal Kingdom in the education department.

She got perfect clothes for a dollar or two apiece. You can't even beat that at Target or Walmart.

I cry at a lot of stuff. I just try to do it in private.

I just snapped away the whole time. The camera was in my lap - no flash - and I just snapped. Some are better than others, but if you've ever ridden it, you know exactly what's going on even in the bad pictures.

I bet Brooklyn will be ready to ride in July!!! :goodvibes

I would make fun of you for gripping the handlebars, because I'm not afraid of heights or anything on that ride at all, but I understand the concept in comparison to my claustrophobia. What you would think was nowhere near something closed in, I would be gasping for breath in, so I will not make fun of you. Soarin' is an incredible ride, in my opinion.

Great reason to be at rope drop! Brooklynn is so close to be able to ride Soarin'! I bet it will be soon! I think Hannah is around 40" now, so we should be good in June. This is one ride I'm really looking forward to!

Hannah will surely be able to ride it. Can't wait to hear about her reaction and see pictures.

You went to the in-laws, right? Hope you had fun. Have a good sleep for you and Baby #3!

Hope you enjoyed seeing those. It was a nice day, but in the blink of an eye, it is now Sunday night, and Monday morning and a new school week always seem to follow.

If all goes as planned, I'll be in Disney World next week. I am looking forward to blue skies and warm weather and palm trees and not thinking about school for a few days.

I found out this morning that another friend of ours is going to be at Pop Century with two of her grandkids when we're there. She's the one who I think I mentioned will share a birthday with Bella.

I haven't talked to you today, Jill, so when you read this, you'll know that Joyce and Jim are going to be at Pop starting this Sunday. They're taking two of Lesley's kids. They're also going to the Space Center and Sea World, but they're staying at Pop the whole time. Pretty crazy, huh?

You are not the only one who has conversations in her head. :lmao:

I always get teary when my mommy leaves after a visit. She lives about 2hrs away. It's really hard sometimes. :sad2:

I bet Brooklynn had a great time with her Memom!!!

Loved the pictures of Soarin. I have never ridden it. We are hopefully going in May and I can't wait to ride.

Tammy
