Over the river and through the FUN!

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better MeMom!

This time, though, I think I took Jill's advice and did not carry a piece of fish around in a baggie for two hours before I finally threw it away.

I near spit out my water at this comment. You crack me up!! I understand not wanting to waste food though, I'm the same way - though, not quite to the extent of carrying fish around in a plastic bag. :goodvibes

I can't say as much for John.
I'm sure he was trying hard to think about football and John Deere and race cars and tools to try to offset some of the fluff he was standing in the midst of.

:rotfl: He realizes it will just get worse as Brooklyn and Isabella grow older too, right?
Brooklynn likes pictures of and with fountains.

Windy day, eh? I love Brooklyn's hair. :goodvibes

Looking up at castle details.

BEAUTIFUL pictures! Wow! I need to take your idea here and get some detail ones of the Castle sometime. So, so pretty!

Good morning all! I talked to the doctor yesterday and she said all my results looked good except one. She said it was reading kind of high and she just wants me to watch my carb intake. I informed her carbs are my life I love bread, pasta, potatoes, etc. She said it wasn't high enough to be super worried her concern is just that Isabella will be too big. She is already guessing that Isabella will probably weigh in at 9 lbs or so since Brooklynn was 8 lbs 5 oz. and second babies are generally bigger. So add the fact that if the insulin isn't doing what it is supposed to can make your baby bigger she is trying to avoid me delivering a baby any bigger than 9 lbs. So for the sake of trying not to have this baby early and trying to avoid a C section I will strictly limit my carbs for the next 13 weeks, but take note that someone will need to have Cracker Barrel dumplins, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and fried apples waiting for me after I deliver. (Got that order MeMom?!)

Jill, glad to hear everything is going well. Your order from Cracker Barrel sounds DELISH. Yummmmmmy!

My DS was 10 pounds 3 ounces. I labored (ALL back labor too! Ugh!) for 32 hours before we finally went the C-Section route and we realized he had a HUGE head (15" at birth). There was no way that kiddo was coming out on his own! I'm very thankful for medical science and C-Sections! I'm wondering if we have a second child how big it will be though! :scared1: Shortly after I had him I heard about a woman overseas that gave birth to a 17 pound baby. SEVENTEEN POUNDS! :faint:

I wish you only the best for your last 13 weeks - and just keep focusing on that post-delivery meal every time you crave carbs! :goodvibes

Shopping and gazing up at the castle is a great way to start my Saturday morning!!!

I agree about all the testing -- it is ridiculous!

I'm glad you had a good start to your day. It rained, rained, rained here all day.

Looks like Brooklynn was picking out a few things that she likes! :) She has good taste!

She is already quite the little shopper!

I love those pictures of the castle detail, its amazing and beautiful. Brooklynn is a good little shopper too, picking out exactly what she wants. And she loves her some fountain pics, I'm surprised she didnt want to play in the water

There is so much detail at every turn in Disney World. I could take thousands of pictures and not scratch the surface.

She's good about touching the water one time and then moving on.

From Cracker Barrel, I see. Not your mommy's homemade food.
Fine, then!

if you wanna hear more about my experience with sedatin dentistry, PM me.

love the pics, memom! especially the stained-glass ones! so pretty.

jill - good to hear that you're doing well. i love carbs too! good thing cutting back on them is only for a few more months!

He said he could 'put me under', if I thought I needed it, but then someone would have had to go with me, and I didn't want to have to do that. I toughed it out.

I couldn't get the light reflections out of the pictures, unfortunately.

Jill has always been a mashed potatoes, macaroni, and corn girl.
Always!

I SOO did not know that 2nd babies are bigger than the 1st. Caleb was 9lbs 0.3 oz so this makes me worried about a 2nd. maybe he will be an only child:confused3 don't know if mama can do a even bigger baby. Maybe with an even stronger epidural. I had a hard time pushing his big head out and I definitely do not want a c-section if I can avoid it. Not wanting a c-section is one of the main reasons I switched to the midwife after she delivered Caleb since she was already at the hospital and my doctor wasn;t. It turned out to be the best thing because I like her soo much more than my OB.

I hope Jill can keep this little girl way under the nine pound mark! I had seven pound babies, so that sounds really big to me! She went to the library and did some research on gestational diabetes and what you should and shouldn't eat to avoid it, so hopefully her change in eating habits will keep Isabella small and easy to deliver, and keep Jill healthy!

Hi Jill, glad to hear that your tests came out well. Cutting carbs is definitely going to be hard! But only for 13 weeks, you can do it :thumbsup2

I hope your baby girl isn't more than 9 lbs! I was the first baby and I was 8 lb 2 oz and my brother is 2 yrs younger and he was 9 lb 2 oz but we were both c sections...so more power to you girl!

MeMom, hope you're feeling better today!

As big as I am, Jill and Trent were not easy deliveries, and they were just normal sizes. They had to have quite a bit of help, especially Trent. They had to work on him so hard that he looked liked he'd been in a boxing match! She's going to try to replace a few carbs a day with some extra protein and maybe some salad.

I am able to eat somewhat, but it takes a little longer than usual. I have had ice cream, eggs, mashed potatoes, chicken noodle soup, and oatmeal. Tomorrow or the next day, I'm going for something a little more dangerous.

Fabulous pics as always MeMom! A beautiful castle and cutie Brooklyn! What more can we ask for?! :)

Jill - I hear ya! I am a total carbaholic! I suppose I'm in for a cutback too if I ever have a baby! I'm glad everything else checked out okay though! Keep smiling, you're almost there! :)

She's doing well right now, and getting bigger and bigger in the tum-tum!

I can't believe how long her hair's getting!

And she's doing good...looks like a great shopper in training haha

She's always had such a time getting Brooklynn to cooperate with the hair fixing in the mornings until she started asking her which princess she wanted to look like each day. Brooklynn will name a princess, and Jill will fix her hair whatever way she was going to fix it to start with, and then convince Brooklynn that she absolutely looks just liked the named princess of the day! :)

You have to understand how very 'poor' we have been at times, so that's where my saving things mentality comes from. If there was a scrap of anything left, I'd save it and put it with something else later to make a whole new meal.

You know how they say the Native Americans used every inch of the buffalo for eating or tools or whatever, and never wasted anything? Well, I'd have fit right in!

I'm getting better, though. If we don't eat it and it's not in a wrapping already, then I usually throw it away. I still hate it, though, and we try to share and not order more than we can all eat between us. That's a lot easier to do when we have the guys with us!

That fountain picture was the better of two that I took, as far as Brooklynn's hair. The other one looked like she was sky diving - it was so all over the place!

We'll make a deal on the meal. If the baby is less than nine pounds, she gets the full thing, but for every ounce over, she loses one item! :rotfl:

I was wondering why you didn't come on the DIS the other morning, it was because you were at the dentist. Poor MeMom, that dream was something else. You were probably so worried you couldn't find Jill. Glad you woke up and realized it was just a crazy dream. I have a great dentist and I've never been afraid of going. Good thing, I've had several cavities filled and a root canal done. :grouphug: for all the dental-phobics in the group.

BrooklynnsMommy so glad you had a good outcome from your tests (except the no carb thing). :flower3: You can do it.

I wish someone had told me if you cut back on carbs you could have a smaller baby....I have you beat brookelizabeth my DS was 10lbs 11 oz and DD was 10lbs 10oz. I am so glad my DD was a touch smaller than her brother or she would have to live with that stigma forever. :rotfl2: Yes, I had a c-section after 21 hours labor with DS and I had a scheduled one for DD. There was no way I was going to go threw that awful labour again to have the same outcome. :rotfl:

You have peeked my curiosity about what the mugs look like, Megablocks will have to take a pic for us. ;)

:)OT - I got one! My cousin gave birth to her 12 pounder after her epidural(sp?) wore off and it was too late for another! They had induced her 3 weeks early because the baby (our little Kai - nicknamed Bubba!) was so big! He was her second baby too...and now she's pregnant with the third, hopefully it's not quite as big! I don't know how she ate carb-wise but her big craving was orange pop! We were concerned her baby would be bright orange! ;)

Hehe, kids are pretty far in the future for me, but my mom and I were talking about this. I'm the oldest of three kids. I was the biggest one; my brother, who came a few years later was smaller than me; and my sister (the youngest) was the smallest. Not saying that it happens with everyone, but it's a possibility.

You have peeked my curiosity about what the mugs look like, Megablocks will have to take a pic for us. ;)

I'm curious about what they look like, too! I'll be seeing them a month from tomorrow!! :dance3:

Sorry I've been away for so long...great update! We started new jobs for our inter-semester break and have been really busy.

We have quite a while before children will be an issue, but carbs will def. be a problem for me! Good luck with the next few weeks Jill!

I love the close-up castle pictures!! And that windy picture is just too cute!

The castle is certainly worthy of many pictures just by itself. I'm always trying to get different angles, and I love the mosaics inside. It's hard to get good pictures of them, though, because of all the other people getting pictures in front of them. I have to wait for an open second and then shoot quickly.

I hate bad dreams that won't go away, too. I keep thinking of how those CMs just kept telling me they didn't know where she was, and I knew they were hiding something. It really is an icky feeling, even when you know it is just a dream.

You did have big babies, didn't you? Like I said, mine were seven pounders, so anything above eight just sounds so big to me!

I have not seen mug pictures yet. I have read reports that they are still giving out the YOAMD mugs until they are gone.

Woah! That's nearly the size of two babies! Is he still big? Sometimes big babies turn out to be not all that big when they grow up.

Is he a redhead? ;)

Since she's having her third, at least that's proof that even a horrible labor can be forgotten, and the prize at the end is worth it!

Good. Maybe this one will be smaller than Brooklynn. Brooklynn is built stocky like John, and Jill is hoping for Isabella to have a thin build like her. She'll have a good ultrasound picture on the 21st of this month, so maybe they'll be able to tell more then.

Hooray for you on your one month mark! :cool1:

Sorry I've been away for so long...great update! We started new jobs for our inter-semester break and have been really busy.

We have quite a while before children will be an issue, but carbs will def. be a problem for me! Good luck with the next few weeks Jill!

Jobs do interefere with Dis time, don't they? I loved my two week break from school, because I got to pretty much Dis whenever I wanted to. I'd do a few chores and Dis a while. Go run some errands and Dis a while. I even did a little school work, but then I'd Dis a long while! :)

To answer your question, big babies do not mean big kids. My DS is tall and thin (muscular) had to put that incase he reads this. :rotfl2: My DD is more "Pooh sized' like her Mommy. No red hair here. :rotfl:

I always said I was afraid of little tiny babies before DS was born, and I laugh because I got my wish. I jumped right into 6-9 mths clothes and no new born diapers for me. I gave the other girl (about 17yrs old) in my room all the little outfits I had been given, they sure didn't fit my DS. ;)

When I was pregnant with DD the doctor said "oh, this baby will be about 7/8pds". I kept saying no way, and when she was born he said "oh boy". I thought he meant she was a boy, but he was commenting on her size. :rotfl2:

He said he could 'put me under', if I thought I needed it, but then someone would have had to go with me, and I didn't want to have to do that. I toughed it out.

oh, yes. you definitely have to have someone with you! my dentist is very near ray's office so he took me there, dropped me off and they called him when i was done and he then took me home and took the rest of the day off (it was like 1:00 anyway and it takes him 30 minutes to get to work from our house, so his boss just told him to stay home - his boss is awesome). i wasn't "under" - just VERY out of it. ray said when he got there to pick me up i was walking around, talking to people and i don't remember that at all. and then he said when we got in the car he asked if i needed anything and i told him i wanted a mcdonald's vanilla shake and some fries and so he went through the drive-through and get them for me but i had fell asleep so i never even ate/drank any of it. :rotfl: the good thing is i don't remember the shot at all. that's the part i have trouble with because i had a bad experience with a dentist and a needle when i was 9. i remember him telling me, "i'm gonna give you the shot now," and i was, "okay....whatever," and i didn't even feel it - not that i remember anyway. and it only cost $15 extra for the ativan! SO WORTH IT.

MeMom she just knows you will be much to busy holding that new baby to be cooking her that wonderful meal. Of course she would rather have your home cooking.

Jill my first was 9 lbs. 13 oz., second was 8 lbs. 9 oz., third was 8 lbs. 6 oz. & then finally the 4th was 9 lbs. 3 oz. The two biggest were the girls.

I am glad that everything is good to go and all you have to do is cut back on the carbs. That little one is going to be here before you know it.

I am totally feeling your oral surgery pain. I need a root canal badly and my dentist couldn't get me in for a week and the pain is ridiculous!!! I've never taken so much Vicodin in my whole life!! I only have one left and two days to go :sad1:

Yep! Kai was a big boy! And he still is! He just turned a year old and his nickname is still Bubba! But no he's not a redhead, nor is he bright orange! He is definately a prize for our family! We knew she wouldn't be thrown off child-rearing - she wants 6! But her first baby was much smaller and is still a tiny little thing! Brooklyn must be getting pretty excited to see her new baby sister soon!

I don't know why anyone would want to be a dentist, but I am glad there are some good ones out there.

I can't imagine you even attempting to eat fries after something like that. I'm still eating on the left side of my mouth. I thought by yesterday, I'd be normal, but I think it'll be another day or two. It's getting better, but definitely not back to normal.

She does like my homemade chicken and dumplings, but I have started cheating in the last few years, most of the time anyway, and using biscuit dough instead of homemade, and she doesn't like them as much. It's just so much simpler and less time-consuming, though, and I like them just as much. It's okay, I'd just as soon order Cracker Barrel and have the extra time to play with and hold the little girls!

Good, maybe Jill will go down in baby sizes, too. Yours was more than a pound drop from #1 to #2!

That had to be horrible! I hope you get all of your pain taken care of and behind you soon. I always say that when we're in any kind of pain, it makes us appreciate the days we're not in pain a lot more!

I wanted at least five, so I love to see larger families. (Maybe not as big as the Duggars, although they are interesting to observe sometimes.)

I think Brooklynn is now realizing that a baby is coming to her house. Some of her friends at school have had new babies arrive, so it gives her something to associate with. She will be so sweet holding a new baby and kissing her little head. She's so sweet with her baby dolls, so I think she'll be a very tender, loving big sister.

It's a cold Monday in middle Tennessee. We're supposed to have a few very cold days ahead. That's not good for the heating bill. I'm sure a lot of you stay in the single digits, teens, and twenties almost all winter, but that's low for us. We'll just cross our fingers that the heating unit lasts another winter!

Everybody stay warm and have a Marvelous Monday!

Hi MeMom

Hope you are well today!

I am slowly getting used to work again after a lovely Christmas break, but our office is freezing again as they shut down the boiler at weekends (to save costs / energy etc.) but then they can't fire it up again on a Monday! Today we've been told it's broken so we are hoping to be allowed home early today!

Today is a good day for me. 24 is back on TV - I love it SOOOOO much!

Julie xxx

ok caught up.

u asked somewhere back there when I am going again. June 19th. grand gathering of 20 right now but might go to 25

we are also thinking about buying into Bay Lake Tower. Biff is undecided.

I will have to try CHH in June, every time I go there it is packed.

looking forward to more.

Breaks are so nice!
Our heating system at school malfunctions often, so I know what it is like to come in to a cold building. Not fun! I wish they'd let us go home early when ours doesn't work, but they just tell the kids to put their coats on!

I have never seen 24, but I have heard of it. I think it's got a pretty big following. I watch HGTV, Travel Channel, Food Network, TLC on Monday nights, and Disney Channel. Sometimes I'll watch shows like 20/20 - real stuff. I saw Barbara Walters interviewing Patrick Swayze and his wife the other night. That was very sad.

Oh yeah, the big huge Dis meet. I forgot about that. That should be fun!

Buying Bay Lake Tower? That would be awesome!
The dog-sitting business must be booming!
It sure would be nice to watch Wishes from the room.

After some shopping, Brooklynn saw someone who makes wishes come true.

She said she was going to tell her Bibbity Bobbity Boo.

IMG_0452.jpg

But she froze up.

The book was signed and pictures were made.

IMG_0453.jpg

IMG_0454.jpg

Then it was off toward Toontown.
One Carrousel picture as we went by. I'd like to get the whole story and put it in sequence someday.

IMG_0455.jpg

We didn't wait for pictures here, so I took one as I was walking by.
Random kid and lumberjack friend.

Arriving at Toontown.

Minnie had been busy decorating her house.

Into the Judges' Tent.

IMG_0459.jpg

Do you have any idea how many times I have almost bought a Minnie dress for Brooklynn?

IMG_0460.jpg

IMG_0461.jpg

Brooklynn loves the Potato people.

IMG_0462.jpg

Brooklynn loves spinny light things.

IMG_0463.jpg

Brooklynn loves the My Little Pony figures, too!

IMG_0464.jpg

Mickey had a tree out in the yard.

IMG_0467.jpg

After shopping, there was playtime.

IMG_0468.jpg

Brooklynn knows neither of these men.

She had a lot of fun sliding.

IMG_0469.jpg

Trent called and said he and Jarvis were at Music and would soon be on a bus on the way to Magic Kingdom, so we wrapped up playtime and headed toward the front of the park to meet them.

IMG_0470.jpg

I guess we walked through the candy shop, because this is my next picture.

IMG_0471.jpg

Trent called again, and we told him to meet us at the nutcracker.

IMG_0473.jpg

Waiting for Trent and the afternoon parade.

IMG_0474.jpg

There's my Bubby!

IMG_0475.jpg

Trent and Jarvis had made it just in time for the parade.

IMG_0476.jpg

Next up, Dreams Come True parade.
Gotta go do something with chicken. Not sure what yet.
