I have read many times here, to buy an over the door shoe holder and keep all your little stuff in it, like shampoo toothpaste meds, etc..

So here is my silly question.....Do you pack all your stuff in it before you go and then just hang it when you get there? Or do you pack the stuff separately and put it all together when you get there?

Starting to pack and trying to figure out the most efficient way, and I am trying to cure myself of the overpacking sickness. LOL! I am such an overpacker! Never know what you are going to need.:confused3

we take several of them with us. We pack them seperately and once at hotel, everyone gets their own.

This item has been one of the best ideas we received from this board. We bought a clear plastic one so you can see everything in it. It has illiminated all that extra stuff you don't know what to do with so it is just all over the room and no one knows where anything is. Now all the pony tail holders, brushes, makeup, spare change whatever ends up in the shoe holder and I don't have to look all over the room for the kids stuff.

We don't put anything in it before we go because it would be to big and bulky. It folds up quite small and goes in our suitcase that is disignated for all the extra stuff we take besides clothes.

Since we stay at Pop Century and the mirror is on the bathroom door we hang it up on the clothes rod by the safe. Its a little long there but works out fine.

Have great time on your trip.:cool1:

We always pack everything separately - especially anything that can leak, like shampoos, toothpaste, etc. Twice, I've had things leak even though the lids were on tight - luckily I had them in ziploc bags. We used the shoe holder this trip, but didn't last trip and we were much more organized and the sink area was kept clutter-free.

Thanks for all the great ideas and well wishes! I am going out today to get one and lots of ziplocs!! Thanks again!

I took the idea of a shoe organizer from the boards here...it was a great idea, but I think the one I purchased was just too cheaply made.:confused3 It only had one hook and when it was hanging on the rod the products inside made it fold inward. If you can, before you buy one make sure its got enough holding power!:rotfl:
