Over the Counter Pain Relief for Sore Throat

I have a killer sore throat today!!! Everytime I swallow I am in agony. I was running a high fever yesterday (101.5 - 103.4) but the fever seems to have come down today (low 99's) so I don't think I have strep.

I am hoping that it goes away soon but in the meantime does anyone have any over the counter or home remedies for a really sore throat? I can't stand lozenges or anything that is cherry flavored so I am a little picky about my pain relief. I have been taking Advil for the fever and the pain but it doesn't appear to be doing much for the pain.

Might be strep, those are the symptoms. Nothing over the counter helped me at all with a sore throat that bad, but if you go to the doc and get antibiotics it'll help in no time. But yes, Chlroaseptic is the best I know of.

I recently used Tylenol Sore Throat and it worked great... I never heard of the stuff but a coworker had it and I was desperate. I ran right out and got some more!!!

Choloroseptic spray. This is what they gave me to use after my palate, uvula, tonsil surgery 5 years ago. In addition, LIQUID Tylenol also did wonders though it tasted horrible.

Sometimes warm fluids feel good on a sore throat. Hot coffee, tea, chicken soup, etc. I HATE sore throats, I hope you're better today.
