over riding air conditioner automatic shutoff

i have seen threads that talk about over riding the automatic shut off on the room airconditioners. i am leaving for wdw tomorrow, and absolutely would love to return to a cool room. do all the rooms have air conditioners that shut off when nobody is in them? and can they be overridden? thanks.

This worked for us last year:

On the thermostat, push the power button and the down arrow (that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly, bp will appear where the temp numbers usually are. You can now set the temp to whatever you want and it will keep cool whether you are in the rom or not. You might have to do this once a day as some reset after 24hrs.

Where are you staying? We were at POR in the AB section, and our room had the old knob-type AC controls, so it stayed on full blast the whole time.

Some of the funny ways I have heard of (If you don't know about Christopher's great info) have included letting a helium balloon "wander" your room, and tying a string to the ceiling fan and then tying a washcloth or bandana to it and letting it zip around and around. I have no idea if either of these work, but I heard them from folks sitting around us at Fantasmic.
