What am I missing here? Why do people love this attraction so much?

I get that it is family friendly, cute, and it satisfies our video game monkey on our backs....

After that, I see it as a one and done. I KNOW I am in the minority.....small minority.

Enlighten me, sage DISers. You're my only hope...........

If you don't like it, then there's nothing to "convince" you of. It's your opinion and you're certainly entitled to it. And I'm not being snarky, it may not appeal to everyone.

We love it, it's a family favorite. We can all play, it's competitive (DS10 gets very into it), there are strategies to get higher scores. Sometimes we work together, sometimes we compete against each other. Sometimes, my kids "steal" my targets and I steal theirs. It's just good fun. A perfect ride to have family fun together...sort of like a board game or family video game come to life. Nothing more.

At park closing, it's a straight walk on, so we ride it two or three times in 15 minutes.

One of the best rides in all of WDW. My husband usually only cares about the thrills, but TSM is his favorite.

There is nothing wrong with not liking a ride others find popular and there probably isn't much anyone can do to convince you that it is fun if you don't like it.

That being said, we like it because it is a game that everyone can play pretty much regardless of age. I think it "works" a little bit better that Buzz Lightyear (which I swear some of the guns there is no way they are aiming anywhere near where I point them). It's super easy ... even little kids can pull the string. It generally doesn't spin enough to make people sick.

Yep. There's likely nothing you're missing. Some people like stuff, others don't.

The rest of the guests will be thankful there's one less person in line for it.

There's absolutely no doubt about that. Buzz is much more difficult because it's very hard to tell where your laser is vs. the other 15 people shooting...and some of the guns don't seem well calibrated. I love Buzz too, but it could use a technology upgrade.

If you don't want to repeat it, that's fine. We love the competition aspect of it. And each of the mini games is well designed and has cute graphics and sound effects.

It's just fun. That's all. But, if someone doesn't agree...that's fine. It's how I feel about Aladdin's Magic Carpets. I just don't go on them.

To me, it’s cute and interactive. It’s a game within a ride. Love the music and the theming. I’m a 31 year old childless female, and I enjoy competing with my husband. It’s just fun, and that’s all I really ask for in an attraction.

This has always been one of the most interesting phenomenons in the park. How can this ride have such a long line during the day then be almost vacant in the evening. We also like to wait until later in the evening so that we can ride 3-4 times back to back with little to no wait.

Just a few weeks ago, the posted wait at around 7:30 pm was 70 minutes but the actual wait was only 3 minutes. The posted wait had dropped to 35 minutes when we got off and were going around again.

IF its a near-zero wait time, I'm more enthused about the ride......

Only at the very end of the night...as in 9:20pm for a 9:30pm park close. The rest of the day, the wait is usually more line 30-45+ minutes. But FP+ isn't hard to get.

I'm one that doesn't enjoy it. I can see the appeal, but it's not for me, and that's a good thing too; if everyone liked the exact same thing, how boring Disboards would be. ;)

First of all as an IT Project Manager for the government I can assure you there is no such thing as over planning. Second its OK not to like some Disney rides I assume that there are therapy groups for this affliction. Third its just a fun family ride. When my daughter was 12 she beat my score and proudly picked on my (loudly) Huh sniper school graduate are you, time to go back to school. Its something we can do together.

My family like the competitive element. We first went to WDW when TSMM just opened, in 2008, and it was everyone's favourite ride. They had a single rider line back then and dd made good use of it ;)

We really rnjoy that ride. But if there is a long line, its also one we won't wait for.
Its like many rides, some love it, some don't. NOthing wrong with it.
I feel the same way everytime we walk past the Tommorrowland Speedway. I would never wait 10 minutes for that one, and yet many people are willing to wait an hour plus.
It keeps them out of the lines I want to be in.

Why do people love anything? Different things appeal to different people. I could take or leave the fireworks shows at WDW - but that's just me.

I find it fun but not a must do. The rest of my family loves it. My girls know all the "tricks" and I refuse to put the time in to figure it out so I can't say I enjoy the competitive aspect of it. I always lose which is not a lot of fun!

Exactly right. Similar to another post today about someone who doesn't "get" the new Toy Story Land. You either like something or you dont. I could care less about bippity boppity boutique, but that doesn't mean other adults or children don't love it. Most likely there is something for everyone at WDW, and you don't have to love everything about a specific park to enjoy it.
