Ok I did something stupid. I went to do the self clean cycle on my whirlpool, and went to check that the door was locked (too soon), so it wasn't, but then the latch went to lock, but the door was open. So now I can't get the oven door to close, cause the lock is engaged.

So any ideas on how to disengage the lock without me paying a repair person??

Well the cycle never ran, cause the door wasn't closed, since it couldn't latch. So there is nothing to cool down. I was hoping after the "time" was up, the latch would unlatch. Nope...not so much.

RIght now I have it unplugged..I am going to plug it back in and see what happens.

Is the oven dial set to "self-clean" though?
