We are coming for 7 days but now DL only sells 6 day hoppers! We are thinking about staying out our first night since we would only have a few hours anyway. Does anyone have suggestions on what to do that evening?

I was thinking maybe you could see WOC from one of the hotels?

So far I think we'll be shopping through DTD and using a Restaurants.com GC at HOB. Maybe even pop over to Trader Sam's! :rolleyes1

I appreciate your suggestions. Our trips is going to be more magical because of all the advice!! Thank you!! pixiedust:

I think DTD and Trader Sam's is a great idea.

Do you have a room in one of the hotels to see WoC from? Otherwise don't bother, it's so much better from Paradise Park, the viewing area in DCA.

We like to roam through DTD and wander through the 3 Disney hotels. I collect pressed pennies, so I wanted to get one from each resort. It's kind of fun to check out the hotel gift shops, lobbies, etc. I think you've got a good plan brewing!

We hate being there and not being able to go into the parks, so we don't do that anymore. In the past though when we had just parkhoppers or had a deluxe AP and were blocked out, we would sometimes go to a character meal at one of the hotels on our arrival day. There are also some good restaurants in DtD and at the resort hotels, and you could really take your time and enjoy your meal since you won't be rushing back to the park. The shopping in DtD is a really good idea too; I know that I spend a lot of time doing that and when better than when you can't be in the parks anyway.

FWIW, I do believe there is a way to upgrade your 6 day hopper to a 7 day hopper at either the ticket booth or the guest services window outside Disneyland. I know I've seen some recent threads on this topic either on this board or another board I browse occasionally. I believe the cost is minimal, so if going to the parks that night is what you really want to do, it doesn't hurt to look into this option.

Not sure whether you have kids or not . . . but either way DTD is really fun to walk around in the evening - lots of live music, shopping, just a nice vibe. You can get an ice cream cone from Haagen Dazs and watch the fireworks from the esplanade. Go for a swim at your hotel. Grab some park maps and Times Guides and plot out your plan for the next day. Walk through the onsite hotels and if it's chilly out grab a drink at the bar at the GCH and sit by the fire and listen to the pianist in the lobby. Or you could go to the parks on the first night and then take a beach day in the middle of the week - we did that once and it was a nice little break from the chaos.

I'm getting jealous thinking about it. Have fun! :)

I've heard you can upgrade your park hopper tickets for a small fee, can you do that with a 6 day hopper too, and does anyone no how much it cost??? I have a 6 day hopper I was thinking of adding a day to if possible next month... :)

Oh wow! Thanks everyone!!

I'm happy to hear I am on the right track. I just didn't want there to be a super secret place with a perfect WOC view outside the park and I'm wasting my time at Build a Bear! LOL.

I think it will be good to have no set plans this first night. It is going to feel much later to us and we'll be up very early to fly.

I'm so excited!!

Another option is to take a day off in the middle of your stay. Sleep in, go out for a huge breakfast, sit by the pool, watch a movie, do some DTD shopping and just go at a slower pace. It always makes the next day back almost like the first day.
