Outside food and drink

Haven't been to Universal in years but have Disney annual passes. Are you allowed to bring food and water bottles into the parks like you can at Disney?

Yes we bring a small cooler with water bottles and Powerade. I've only seen a restriction for HHN. We could only bring in unopened water bottles.

FYI- you can get free cups of water at any place with fountain drinks. I hate lugging stuff so we make use of that.
