Outside Florist?

I am considering changing to using an outside florist for my wedding, rather than Disney, as I think it might help keep costs low.

Can anyone recommened one, and give me some information?

we looked at charming events but i think they have a min spend, also there is peddles.

We got silk floral and ours was not that bad i think $500-700 i think is all we spent

We used Flourish Productions and they were amazing. We spent 10K on floral but I think for what we got it was a lot cheaper (and a TON better quality and quantity) than Disney florist would have provided. We also found them to be super amazing, and genuinely nice people who really cared about our event. They always responded to emails and phone calls, did a mock table and centerpiece setup for us, and had many meetings with us.

I have just emailed charming events and flourish productions, I loved all your floral Skylarr!

Do they have a minimum spend or anything? Did you get absolutely everything from them, or did you use Disney as well?

The only thing I got from Disney was the gold chivari chairs, I am sure they could have gotten them for me but I didn't see a point of having them deliver them when Disney could set them up (it might have been cheaper but I never even checked) and Disney provided our dessert party decor because it was in park but I haven't posted any photos of that yet.

I don't think they had a minimum or at least they never mentioned it me. All I know is that my bouquet was so huge and for the cost I know it would have cost a ton more from Disney.

I really loved the personal attention I got.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I didn't know this was an option. You can use outside floral for everything? Outside and inside the parks? :surfweb:

Eek, I'm waiting for my proposal from Flourish and I'm super-scared on how much they're gonna charge!

You can not use an outside florist if you are inside a park.

So if I was having a ceremony at SBP, I could use an outside florist for everything and decorating? Disney will allow them to take care of it? Is there an extra fee Disney charges for using an outside florist?

I thought I remember reading on the board the only thing the outside florist couldn't do was your bouquet? I'm :confused3 :rotfl:

This is a great thread since I want a BED of flowers...and after seeing what $65 covers with Disney....you can understand this piece of good news :)

It will be worth it though, everything was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined and they completely understood my vision and made it come true. They will work with you, I know we cut down about 5k of things we thought we didn't need in the end (a custom lounge etc.)

They can do all the floral if you are at sea breeze point. And YES, they can do bouquets, they did mine and it was the prettiest one I have ever seen! There is no added fee by Disney for floral. Yes, they will set everything up for you.

I believe if you use SBP then you have to use Disney floral. I believe the rule is any location that the general public can see.

I think the outside florists do a great job but I really don't think the Disney florist is expensive. I mean if people are just going off of the wishbook I guess it could look expensive but there are SO many options and Disney does work to fit your budget. They don't just offer a couple of things.

Just my opinion. :rotfl:

The rule changed a few months ago - they no longer allow outside floral or entertainment at any outdoor venue. Which leaves, like, the Wedding Pavilion as the only ceremony venue that allows those things.... :sad2: The exception is personal floral - you could have an outside florist do your bouquet, boutonnieres, etc.

That sucks about Sea Breeze Point.

I don't necessarily think Disney is overly expensive (and we spent a lot on floral) but it cost us 2K just for chairs and DP decor on top of what we spent using an outside florist and we only had 30 guests so IMO that is pricey.

I think it is more about the quantity/quality of what you get FOR the price. For example my bouquet was probably 2x as large as it would have been for the same price if Disney had done it. I have seen people pay the same amount for a centerpiece that contained about 1/3 of the flowers that ours did. We had a small topiary with roses and hydrangea and lollipops on the kids table and it was the same price that we paid for our HUGE centerpieces. We got a mock up free of charge. Our linens which were amazing floor length satin linens and hand beaded overlays which were almost the same price that we paid for regular satin linens at our dessert party. Our chair covers were cheaper also. That was just my experience, of course it can vary depending on what you want, if flowers are in season etc.

Disney topiary that we paid $25 less for ~ This thing was close to $300 bucks, ouch!

I suggest getting a quote from both and seeing who gives you the best price. You can use Disney for some things if their price is better etc. As long as you are meeting your DFTW minimum you can pick and choose things from each vendor. I went back and forth between Disney floral and Flourish until I got our budget where it needed to be (at 12K) and it worked well as I think I got the best price (and quality) for all items.

I've thought about this as well but I'm too paranoid in the sense where I'm sure disney will do it right and be on time and not worry about security clearance and all that good stuff! Let us know if you find a crazy good deal though!!

Thats a good idea. You can always cut one of them.
