what is going on with the buses just got back and was taken to the mk on a motor coach from a outside bus company? it was a big white bus nothing on it the driver was not in a driver uniform ? this ever happen to anyone? also instead of a magical express bus we were picked up by a crusie line bus ? what is going on down there????
This is all very very normal ... nothing has changed, nothing has "gone downhill," and nothing is wrong.
Disney runs DME, it makes all the rules, policies and procedures. They subcontract out much of the "muscle" work. Since Day One, Mears is the subcontractor that supplies the buses and drivers. The drivers were never Disney CMs, they have always been Mears employees. Mears has also, since before DME, been the subcontractor for
Disney Cruise Line buses. And they also do their own bus thing under their own name, as well, hence the "plain" buses.
Occasionally, due to huge demand or mechanical breakdowns or what have you, Mears will service DME customers with
DCL or "plain" buses. If they didn't, the result would be huge waits for DME buses if there aren't enough DME buses in-service to meet demand.
Always been this way.
