Outdoor reception?

We were looking at doing a morning wedding and brunch outdoor reception, has anyone had one of these? Do you still dance and stuff even though you're outside? Is the sun too bright/hot? I don't want to be all squinty in my photos... How does that work?

The weather is going to depend on the month, if you are looking for a summer wedding, then I would definitely not recommend an outdoor reception...In the morning in Florida it can be really sunny so you might spend the day squinting (take it from a girl who was born and raised in S. FL). I think it depends on the location but for instance if you have your reception at the Whitehall Patio the DJ will set up outside and they'll leave space for a dance floor. Let me know if you need any other info?

What about the Attic?

I'm looking for something with a lot of natural light, but really laid back atmosphere. I would love to do it outside but I'm pretty sure we'll be doing a brunch or lunch, and I don't know that any of the places outside are covered?

I had a brunch using the Attic patio, so it was outside, but still covered. We loved it.

We also had a dinner reception outside at Sago Cay and loved it, but it isn't covered (except for some trees).

We had an outside reception at the White Hall Room Patio at the Grand Floridian. It was perfect!!! You have Cinderella's Castle in the background. We had about 90 guest with still plenty of room to dance.

That is exactly what I want!! Could you post or PM me some photos of your reception? I would love to see how you worked everything out! Where was the food, tables, etc? We wont have 90 but maybe 50-ish and were worried about the space. Any ideas?

The brunch was right after the ceremony, so it was our reception.
