Has anyone used the outdoor pools at the resorts during a November trip? We are planning to be able to use the pools for some downtime for my kids, but not sure what to expect weather wise. Won't they freeze when they get out of the pools? Thanks in advance!

We've been once in November and our weather was beautiful with temps in the mid 80s the whole week. With that said, November weather is unpredictable and while it should be warm enough to swim, it could also be cold. You should be ok as far as temps, but I'd be prepared for colder weather just in case.

We'll be there at the same time. The pools are heated, so swimming will be comfortable but yeah getting out might be chilly. Might not as well! From what I hear the weather can be anywhere between the 60's and 80's. I think us November folks will miss the coldest weather which should hit Dec-Jan. That's what I'm hoping at least. :) We'll be hitting the pool. Our kids won't care if it's cool out.

We've been in November twice with both times during Veteran's day week. One year, it was warm enough to swim with temps in the low 80's. The next year we went, we only had one day where it was warm enough to swim and the rest of the week, we were in jeans and sweatshirts the whole time so as mickeynut1 said...November weather can be unpredictable.

Weather in Florida can be a mixed bag. I find mid day the warmest, pools are heated but if temp drops, yes they'll be cold getting out of pool.

We've been the week before Thanksgiving for the last two years. The first year, it was warm enough more than half the week to use the pool, in the low 80s. Last year, temps were in the 60s for the most part with one day in the 50s. Definitely not warm enough. It's hit or miss, but certainly possible.

We're going that same week this year. We've gotten some jackets and sweatshirts for the girls to take. Hopefully it will be warm enough mid-day sometime to let them have some free time at the pool!

Yes they are heated, but I was most worried about when they get out of the water.

I guess it depends on how far it is from the pool to the room and how much your kids will be affected by a few minutes of cold. We go to this hotel in Maine in the fall and winter and we swim in the outdoor heated pool all the time. Yes it's a bit chilly when we get out but we just wrap up in towels and head for the nearest door to get inside! My DD loves it but I have a nephew that came with us once and he hated it so it is definitely a YMMV adventure! I know some of the resorts it can be a long walk from the pool to your room and if it's a value or moderate you'll be walking outside... Maybe request a room by the pool to make swimming an option even if the weather is not quite warm.

We were there at the end of December last year for 10 days.
My kids swam every single day (except for one) because it was hot.
As soon as the sun goes down it gets chilly quickly though.

We were there the first week last year and had a cold snap the first half of our trip and the second half was in the 80s. You just never know, expect anything. There will likely be at least a day or two where it's warm enough. Crossing my fingers it is, because we're going over Veterans Day.

Hard to plan. Last year it was 85 for the first half of our trip. It was 55 the day we left (7 days later). We swam twice. In 2012 we went right after Thanksgiving and it was too chilly for me, but the kids swam on the day it reached 74.

Keep an eye on the forecast before you go. They were calling for upper 60s last year with a few days in the low 70s. Coming from Buffalo, we considered that t-shirt weather so we only packed 1 or 2 hoodies and pairs of pants. What we never considered was that the daytime highs were 68 and 70 - which means around 1-2pm. Going to the parks at rope drop meant the temps were in the low 50s in the morning and when the sun went down. Couple that with outdoor rides like Everst, Splash, Safari, etc and we were bundled up.

We were there last November and were able to swim a few times. I recall the one day being too chilly (lower 70s) for me to get in the water, but warm enough to lay out on a chaise. Lots of people were in the pool though so maybe I'm just a baby!
