so do you seek out scrapbook stores when on vacation? I am currently visiting my mom in Florida. I hit one store so far and my step dad said there are 2 other stores near by.
If it rains I am going to find them tomorrow!
I did get to see a lot of the new stuff. Bought some neat paper. Got some new Disney paper too!

Yes, totally... We were in Williamsburg last summer and I hit one scrapbook store. And, it had a lot of patriotic stuff I've never seen so, I bought it all to scrap our vacation to Williamsburg & DC area.

I love going scrapbook shopping. We go to Disneyworld in May and I am not sure if I am going to shop there. We won't have a car and I heard there isn't much at the downtown Disney store. So, we'll see...

I did this too. Found some great Williamsburg things. I have also been to every LLS from West MI to the Detroit area. My boys hate it when we go to Grandma's without Dad b/c we stop at so many places.

I'm so bad that I will google where we are going to see where the scrap stores are. :) it's all part of the trip planning as far as I am concerned. :) maggie

ps: so where in williamsburg are the stores? we are going in june I think.

I always go scrapbook shopping when I go to Texas. I also went to one in Detroit a few years ago. It was great to pick up some local things that went with what we had seen, but wouldn't have been able to find here.

I was just out in the Pasadena area (escorting my husband to a <ick> Star Trek convention). What's a girl to do all afternoon?? Search for scrapbooks stores of course!! I think I found maybe 5 or so different stores, it was great seeing different layout ideas and papers!! I checked out magazine store directories, then mapquest'd them so I'd know where I was going. Worked like a charm -- now only if something could be done about the traffic out there!

Happy Spring!

Hi. I just got back a week ago. All the way down and back I searched for scrapbooking supplies. Then our stay in Florida I even searched through the local yellow pages for stores.

I hit the one in Williamsburg when we were there over a year ago at Christmas also. I was also able to get some stuff for our DC trip that they had in their store as well. It's a very small store and I missed it the first time. It had a red front and was east of town, past the Pottery Factory if I remember right. I can't even remember the name of it but I found it in one of those brochure things that you can pick up for free.

Nicurn, I see you are in northern VA, I found a great scrapbook store in Fairfax VA. It's called My Scrap book Store. My in-laws live down there and I found this store when we where there for Thanksgiving. I could have spent hours in it but my husband was with me so he rushed me.

Maggie the Williamsburg store is hard to find. It is the one that is past Pottery World like Cruise04 mentioned. It is a really small building that wouldn't even look like a store. I think, I got the address out of the phone book. Anyways, they had page kits of words already cutout, etc... I just added a few of my own embellishments. Cute store and great owner...

Before we leave on vacation, I usually check the back of the Creating Keepsakes magazine for nearby stores. Creating Keepsakes also has a store directory on their website. I also like to check the local phone book for stores wherever we go.

We were hoping to go to Williamsburg next Thanksgiving, but our school calendar wasn't changed to a week off (like I had hoped). We really want to go sometime next year. And now that I know that there are scrapbook stores nearby....

Brenda, what stores did you hit in the Pasadena area?

Jeanne

I definitely look for scrapbook stores when we are away. I actually planned an entire trip to WDW around a scrapbook convention that was happening in Orlando in October 2001.

I also use the store directory at the back of the Creating Keepsakes magazine.

tiggerfamily, I love, love, love the scrapbook store in fairfax. :) In fact, I was just in it last week. And the ac moore that is right down the sidewalk from it. I also like the chantilly va store (scrapbooks plus) and memories in dulles va. the only one in my imediate area that I don't like is the family scrapbook store in broadlands... (and trust me, I've tried to like it since it's really close.. I just don't). Oh well, thankfully there are plenty of other places to shop. :) maggie

It was driving me crazy so, I pulled out my page kits and the store I went to in Williamsburg was called Come Scrap With Me. It is at 7435 Richmond Road. I went to that one because I thought it was closest to our condo. I would have visited all the scrapbook stores but I usually only have time for one per trip :guilty: .
