I am the maid of honor for my sister's wedding. Right now she is completely overwhelmed so I am trying to help her with the wedding planning. We are going to give all of the out of town guests a welcome bag that they will get when they check into their hotel. Inside their welcome bag, I wanted to put a welcome booklet/brochure. We we going to welcome them to the event but I didn't know what else to include. Any ideas? Also does anyone have a welcome booklet/brochure from their wedding that they are willing to give to me as a template? Thank you so much! :)

I think a welcome letter/brochure is a great idea. We included it in our Welcome Bag. I'm trying to remember everything we put in our bags.

I made a folder with a Welcome Label on the front and inside put the welcome letter, separate invitations to those that were attending our rehearsal brunch, park maps and times guides for the times during the wedding, a Hidden Mickey brochure that I made with hints to Hidden Mickeys in all the parks and resorts.

In our bag I also put some snacks, a Bear Necessaties zip lock bag (with bandaids, antibacterial wipes, safety pins, a pack of mints and a few other things). a Take Note zip lock bag with a small Disney notepad and Disney pen). I also made Disney nametags for everyone (that looked lime CM bagges). There are lots of great ideas from all the disbrides on here. If I can find some examples of things I used I will add them to this.

Happy planning and that is a very nice thing you are doing for your sister.

Thank you Linda! It is going to be a lot of work but it is SO worth it since it is for my sister! I love the ideas for the welcome bag! The Disney nametags and Bear Necessities zip lock bag are great!

I am still not quite sure what to write in the welcome booklet. Is it just supposed to be a welcome note from the couple, information about nearby attractions/ restaurants, and timeline or info about the event? Any suggestions? Thanks! :)

I'm getting ready to do our welcome letter and was just coming here to post the same question. So far here is what I plan on including in the welcome letter:

A welcome from us thanking them for coming
A schedule of the events that we'll be holding and info on transportation to/from events
Our cell numbers in case they need to reach us
Info on the parks including extra magic hours tips and info on how to use fast pass
our favorite attractions

That is about all I've come up for now. I'm going to include some snacks, bottled waters, a hidden mickey guide (helps them to find some of the hidden mickeys), park maps, hand sanitizer and an I'm celebrating pin.

Don't forget to tell them about photopass :)

Samples of all my items are on my old computer. Not sure if I can find them or not. If I do I will add here. There are alot of great brides on these boards and I am sure they can help. If you search around alittle you might be able to find some samples. If I find any I will also include here.

Thanks everyone for your help so far! The more information the better.

I love that you are doing this for your sister! Its sooooo kind. My FI and I are planning to do the same thing so of course, I think its a great idea!
We are hoping to have our guests welcome baskets available for when they check into their hotels. In the basket will be a welcome packet with a welcome letter, things to do in the area including our favorite hangouts, a basic itinerary for guests so they know when to be where. (This was complicated because some people are invited to things that others weren't, IE rehearsal dinner, but I think it will be worth the effort so everyone is on the same page.) We're also going to include some water bottles, some snacks, some emergency packets thanks to lpizzuro123 (awesome idea!). I think the unique thing that is going in our welcome basket is going to be a frame. Sounds strange at first, but inside the frame will be a little note that will say something to the effect of: "Come to the wedding and by the end of the night you'll have something to put in this frame!" (I'd like it to say something more creative, but I have time to work on that.)
We're going to have characture artists at the wedding and that will be our guests' favors. They can put it in the frame to protect it for their ride home.

I also made Disney nametags for everyone (that looked lime CM bagges). Linda

We're doing an Anniversary Celebration next month in Epcot (UK Lochside) and I love the idea of nametags because our guests will consist of 20+ family members and also, 10 Florida friends. Our family members and Florida friends have never met so nametags would be great. Do you mind sharing how you made them? :goodvibes

I used a product like this to make my own badges (not bagges - sorry).

http://www.snaptogetherbuttons.com/

These buttons are round - I did find a company that made them rectangle. I think the size was around 1 1/2 x 3. I then created a powerpoint document and made that size red box. I used clip art and got some great Disney characters. For me and my DH I of course used bride Minnie and groom Mickey. For one of my DBM I used Snow White and for her husband I used Grumpy. For my niece and her husband and family I used all Lion King characters (this was her kids favorite movie at the time). I put the character off to the right in the red box. I used more clip art that said Walt Disney World - in the Disney font and put this on the red near the top of the red box and then wrote Guest of Honor near the bottom of the red box. I put the persons name in the center of all this in white bold letters.

I was able to fit a few to a page, printed it off on my color printer cut the red boxes out, put it in the button and clipped it shut. Everyone loved them and most people wore them while at Disney - even to the wedding.

If I can find some pictures I will post them.

thank you soooo much for sharing the link and your ideas. I love them! I don't know why I never thought of name tags, so I'm very happy for your suggestion...perfect for our gathering.

Ok - I found two pictures from our wedding where our guests are wearing the badges. It is kind of far away so you cannot see the actual details of the badge but here they are to give you some idea of what I did.

Hope this works.

Like I said earlier, our guests really loved the badges. Above are some pictures. My other thought instead of putting Guest of Honor on the bottom would be to put how you are related to the person. Like I was going to put Bridesmaid on my bridesmaids buttons - and then Husband of Bridesmaid on their husbands buttons. I started doing this but we had 50 people -friends too - what should I put Friend of Groom or Friend of Bride and it started getting too complicated so I just did Guest of Honor, but for your group of around 20 you could put how they are all related too.

Linda

Thank you so much for taking the time to post the pics! I love your idea of identifying guest's by relationship. For example, I could put Chris - Son, or Martha, Friend. l think that works perfect for our celebration since it's a mix of family and 'Florida' friends.
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to share.

Glad you like the suggestion, I also included some pictures above. I also wanted to give you a sample what you will see from UK Lockside for IllumiNations. This is where our Dessert Party was and everyone loved it.
