...DD decided to sing the ABC's yesterday.

I have been singing them to her for a long time, but she never joined in or anything. Last night DH was reading an ABC book to her and she just started singing the song.

He came out and commented that I should have told him she could sing the ABC's. And I said I didn't know she could! LOL! She did a great job and just stumbles on the 'LMNOP' part. ;)

I wonder what else she knows!

What a wonderful surprise! I'm sure they understand a lot more than we think!!

Isn't it wonderful watching them learn and grow?

Enjoy this special time!

That's very sweet, Jenn Lynn, good for her! :) Hmmm....a future American Idol contestant? :D

I think a lot of people have trouble with the LMNOP part. For me it used to (and often still does ;) ), tend to come out sort of like.....LMMENOP...like a new word! :sunny:

Wow! Great job, Avery!

DS doesnt get the same part..."h i j k emma emma p, q r s t u v emma emma x, y & z. :teeth:

Don't you just love those "look what I can do" surprises? I am amazed on a regular basis by what they can learn and do.. The other day DS6 figured out that his McDonald's Happy Mean Toy worked-defying gravity-because it had a magnet in it. I don't think I would have ever figured that one out....

We are going to work on the states next. DD is getting one of those wooden puzzles that is a map of the US. Fun and educational. ;) :)

That's so sweet! I taught kindergarten for eight years, and most kids stumble over the lmnop part, mostly because it's lumped together quickly in the song. It's not until the letters are broken down slowly, one by one, that kids realize they are separate letters! :)

It's amazing what they come up with that you never knew that they knew! LOL (Did that make sense?) My youngest DD (who will be 5 in September), surprised us in the car the other day. WE are always doing Math facts with my oldest DD, and Rebecca pipes up with "I know what 8 + 4 is..." She proceeds to tell us the answer and is CORRECT! So then we start quizing her, and getting into the Teens and Twenties, and low and behold she can add! Big numbers too! Who knew!? LOL
