Which park do fellow UK visitors go to on their first full day in Orlando ?

The first year we went we were advised to go to Sea World because of it's more leisurely pace and we really enjoyed the day.

Last time we decided to go to MGM as we down in WDW at the welcome meeting anyway. Once again it was a good choice, the park was fairly quiet and we had a really good day.

This year we will probably take the MGM option again.

Does anybody go to the big parks on their first full day ?

Both times we went we had to do the Magic Kingdom. First time we were there my daughters were 3 and 7 and heavily into the whole Disney princess thing, so we had to see the castle first off. The second time we thought that Zoe might not remember the first time very well so we did MK again. Also we had my mother and what better way to start a holiday. She loved watching her grand-daughters' reactions and we loved watching hers.

Yes - we always visit a park on our first full day. Which park depends on early entry and what day of the week it is. Animal Kingdom was the one to visit before early entry returned as it opened early, and since we were on UK time the first day, we were awake with dawn!

Now, I'd go for the park with ealry entry for the first full day as it is the only day I can possibly get up and be at a park for 8.00am!

Animal Kingdom on the first and last day, plus several days in between! The first year we visited WDW Animal Kingdom opened at 7am, so it made sense to go on the first day as we were wide awake early on. Now we visit on our first day out of 'tradition'.

Regards

Rob

I have to spend at least the morning at the Magic Kingdom - I'm not really there until I've seen the castle.

First time we arrived put the bag's in our room and then were off to MK the very first evening - the next day was AK for us.

Last year - we arrived strolled around the Boardwalk had dinner at Beaches and Cream and the next day AK again. We like to start the holiday with Donalds Breakfastaurus :D

We always spend our first full day round the pool. After a tiring day travelling we find that recharging the batteries is the best thing. As for the first park it depends on which day we get there, we then plan the parks around SimonV's advice on "lightest" days for crowds (we normally go Oct/Nov so most days are quiet anyway!).

We usually spend the morning relaxing at the resort and pools and then after lunch we head in to The Magic Kingdom for the afternoon and evening parade.

Richard. :)

We tend to pop to Epcot for a short while at least on our first day and ride Spaceship Earth. When we first went to WDW in '97 it just happened to be the first one that we picked then, so it's become a kind of tradition. We then take it easy and perhaps spend part of the afternoon by the pool, soaking up the sunshine!

Even if we're staying on-property I still prefer to drive into the Epcot parking lot that first day, and then get the tram up to the gate, as it brings me back memories of that first magical trip. :D

we have started with Seaworld both trips now. The first time we were restricted to non-disney parks the first week, and then disney the 2nd because of the way our passes worked, and I had been advised that Seaworld was a good place to start. I think it was perfect for us, as we didn't have a great day in IOA (Our 2nd park) and I think we would have been really panicking that we weren't going to have a great vacation if that had been the first park experience we had had.

Last time we drove up from Miami in the morning, found the villa, pottered around for a while, and then decided to go to Seaworld since we had Annual Passes for it, so it wouldn't cost us a day. We didn't get there until after 6 and nearly everyone was leaving, but we had a lovely evening, saw the Shamu Rocks show and the fireworks and came home feeling like we were really on vacation.
The next morning we were at Magic Kingdom bright and early, There is something about finally seeing the castle that lets you know you are in Florida for real.

On our next trip, I would imagine we will head straight for Magic Kingdom, it is really my favorite park by far, and I don't think I will want to wait even a moment longer than I have to to get there. We won't go on the day the plane lands though (unlike Spotty and Crew, what stamina...), on the day the flight lands, it's all we can do to make it through a meal and into bed. But, we will be there bright and early the next morning.

Last time we went it was MK for us, this year again MK, I think you cant get a better start to your holiday, than jumping on the ferry and seeing the castle for the first time, it makes my day to see DS's face with a big smile, priceless.

First time, it was MK. We dropped off our bags, showered and hot tailed it over there.

We got there as the parade was coming down main street and the first thing I saw was Mickey!! I watched ther rest through tears of joy! All we did was sit on the pavement, watch the firework and soak in the atmosphere till closing time. We were too tired to do anything else! But it was worth it.

Now we either do Epcot or Animal Kingdom mainly because early morning is good for both. You can get to do all the interactive stuff at Epcot when there's no crowds and get fast passes for later if you time it right.

Or, see the animals when they're wide awake at AK.

Yup! same here, we was at MK (firstly),it made DD's day seeing that castle,etc..it was a fantastic experience!!

Will be seeing it again soon we hope!!

Got to be Magic Kingdom first evenin and next day for us. The holider's not started for us till we've breathed in the pixie dust and refound the child inside.

Last time we dropped the bags off and went to MK and had a burger at Pecos Bills - yum scrum :D

I think we then did MK the next day.

I think AK is early entry when we next go so that sounds like a good idea for our first full day - or maybe pool and shopping - Nope I just can't decide as yet LOL

4 trips in 1 year ! So what do you do by day ? Bank robber, fraudster, lottery winner, estate agent ?

Bitter. Me. No, what gives you that impression ?
