We do and it can be anything from sugar free Jello to chocolate cheesecake. In the summer, it's mostly fruits or water ice, in the winter it's usually something rich or baked like cookies or pie. Tonight it's corn bread!
I have to have to have a sweet treat everyday or I'll over eat! It can be as little as one Peppermint Pattie, but it has to be something!
Oh yeah! In the summer there's lemon meringue pie, strawberry pie, key lime pie and peach crumb pie and strawberry shortcake too!
Dinner isn't over until I have dessert. I'll have ice cream, cookies, fruit, pudding or some other sweet. Ice cream was most common when I was growing up.
I only make dessert when we have company for dinner. Occasionally, the DH and kids will have some ice cream later in the evening. I rarely eat dessert at home.
We don't but there is always things around here to eat that is sweet if they want them. We buy the quick bake Cookies that are already cut and all you have to do is pop them in the oven for 10 minutes. We usually have Ice Cream or Nutty Bars or other Little Debbie snacks. There is yogurt in the fridge...and for me there is Fat-Free Sugar-Free Homemade Vanilla Yogurt in the freezer.
So while there isn't a set dessert, there are always sweets.
Kermit -- I guess in other parts of the country it's called shaved ice?? Here in the Philadelphia area it's made by blending real fruit, water and juice into a slushie type of concoction that you eat with a spoon. Yeah, you're right, ice water doesn't sound like a very satisfying dessert.
Usually only on special occasions and when we have company. My kids always seem to have candy around (the latest is from Valentine's Day) so sometimes they have a piece of that after dinner. If one of us has a craving sometimes we'll make brownies or get some ice cream for a treat.
Dh grew up with dessert every night. I grew up with Saturday night ice cream and desserts on holidays etc.
I think water ice is a popsicle or a snowcone... which req. a machine Im a sugar junkie so I know these things. The only meal that doesnt go with desert for me is breakfast
