Has anyone watched this new show on TLC? It's a reality show about a family in North Carolina with all kinds of animals, around 80, inside and outside the house. There are only two episodes so far. I'm loving it! It's so silly, but sweet. Naa Naa is my favorite "character", not to mention all of the animals!

I usually love the "family" shows. But didn't last 15 minutes in the middle of the first episode. Maybe I'll give it another look, but.....

We live 3 minutes away from It's a Zoo Life- they are a great family in real life- what you see is what you get and Ms. Mercer aka Naa Naa is a gem in our community. My son goes to school with the son on the show and he has loved watching his friend. I am glad to see a down to earth family being featured.

I just found the It's a ZOO Life facebook page! Following!

I caught it by mistake the other day, I was intrigued to say the least. I couldn't imagine that going on in my house, but this woman loves those animals for sure! Love Naa Naa, I feel like she does about those critters in the house.

I have had it on in the background, but haven’t clicked with it enough to become really interested. Next time it’s on I will pay better attention.

I thought it was great...... like everything, I guess there is some controversy surrounding the show.

I googled it! Article said # not correct.
Something about winning a lottery?
But I love that chick!

Nope nope nope

So, so gross and unhealthy..physically and mentally.

I can’t even imagine the smell in that house. It just looks dirty. I’d watch this with the same morbid curiosity that I watched a bit of honey boo boo.

Agree - but I guess you probably need to be an animal person to get the attraction, which I totally am not. I won't watch it; it would disgust me. I was at my BFF's house the other day and her dog put his wet nose on my bare leg - it was all I could do not to shriek and run the the bathroom to wash. :crazy2:

Havnt watched it, might check it out.
I ran into a woman once that was selling chicks at the local feed store, I was looking for a couple of geese for my pond, she said she has some and told me to call mid week. I went by and she had animals everywhere, I mean chickens, peacocks, ducks, geese, monkeys, goats, donkeys, horses, lizards, snakes, turtles, and more. All over her yard and in her house, I mean she had a donkey in the living room, let that sink in, A DONKEY in the House, monkeys crawling on the kitchen cabinet.
I like animals, but I like them outside.

I love it! Naa Naa is adorable and she cracks me up! My DS19 has a weird fascination with lemurs. He saw some at a zoo a few years ago and just thinks they're the cutest things ever. It's become kind of a joke with us. I sent him a stuffed lemur at college for his birthday last year, and I try to find him lemur cards, pictures, etc. As soon as I saw there was a lemur on the show, I had to run upstairs and get him to watch it with me. Now it's our favorite thing. He also loves Naa Naa. We're going to watch it together every week until he has to go back to college in August.

Had the TV on in the background and caught bits and pieces of one episode. I read an interview that said at least some of the animals in the house stuff is just for TV, although the sloth is always inside and creeps about freely, and that alone would freak me out!

The woman is definitely trying to fill a void in her life..and she’s married with three kids. She has a baby kangaroo that she wore on her (in a sling) for EIGHT MONTHS.

She had to get a nanny for her youngest son because she devotes all her time to her ‘babies’. I watched for 10 minutes and had to turn it off in disgust.

As the wife of a guy who's father and step-mother had a privately commissioned portrait of their precious dog proudly displayed in their home but no pictures of their grandchildren, this makes me :sad1: . One of the only gifts they ever gave us was a framed print of that painting. :sad2:

LOL

I’m sorry for laughing but that is just so over the top. The framed print is the icing on the cake.

I don’t know all the details but I’d guess her son has a nanny, as do lots of kids, because his mother is working full time with the animals. I think the animals are a business. A rescue, sanctuary, petting zoo etc.
