Well,

Our first ever FW trip is behind us and we can start planning our June trip now. I just wanted to post a quick little TR.

We left Thursday around 1500 and arrived at check in right around 1600. Traffic was light and we cruised right along. We got in line to check in and wouldnt you know it, the other 2 lines moved way faster than opurs. But oh well, we were there and had nothing better to do. I did not do the online check in because I forgot, but once we got up to the window, it moved pretty quickly.

We were assigned site 1921 for our 4 day stay. Let me tell you, I was a little dissapointed with our assignment. I expected the sites to be a little nicer considering the amount of money I paid. The concrete slab was barely big enough for our little trailer. With the amount of rain we had, we had to step out of the trailer and into a mud puddle everytime we exited. But it was still not bad, I just expected better.

So we get set up and go for a walk (no cart or bikes). The rain ended our walk early and we ended up going to bed early. Friday was DHS and to bed early. Sat was Epcot. We finished Epcot early and decided to go for a walk to look for fellow Disers. I found some in the 1700 loop, but no one was around. The skys opened up and ended our search for the GG that was supposed to be going on and we ended up watching some TV to wait out the rain. Sun was a DTD day and we left Mon around 0900.

I did have my sign out for a bit, but the rain had washed it out sometime throughout the weekend. So I didnt get to meet any Disers. I did get to see the Mousketab though.

So, if anyone will be at the fort 26 Jun - 3 Jul, maybe we can meet up then.

Sorry you had such a rainy first trip, the bright side is you get to go back.

We did have a blast. The rain didnt slow us down one bit. We just got wet, allot. I did enjoy the Fort and now see the allure it has on everyone. Wish I could have met up with some fellow **********.

The Group was in the 1700 loop. We were the pop up right across the street from the Mouse - Ka - T@B.

Sorry we missed you! I think the 1900 was about the only loop that I didn't loop through.

I remember seeing your pup but cant remember seeing your sign. We walked around looking at all of the set ups, for ideas. My DW wants one of those Mickey lampposts now. I have just under a month to figure out how to make one now.

I am very new here, but we must have been very close to you because I think we were in 1920 or 1919...We checked in on Wednesday in our 24ft hybrid. We also had a great wet time, but did not like the 1900 loop at all. We stay at the fort alot, and this was the first time I was very dissappointed in the loop. Not just the narrow pads, but because of all the drop offs, there wasn't any usable space on either side of our site. Oh well!

hmmm, I remember a hybrid right acrossed from us. You were packing up to leave the same time we were I think. We had the black lab we kept walking around the loops.

I was wondering how the 1900 loop would hold up once there was a heavy rainfall. I know they filled-in the gullies with sand and was wondering if it would wash out during a heavy storm. We were in 1923 last fall and it was one of the better sites in the 1900 loop but there still wasn't much usable space. Did the center part, inside the 1900 loop, fill up with water? When we were there, it had a lot of shallow standing water and I was wondering if it would become a pond during a heavy rain.

They really do need to work alittle bit more on the 1900 loop by putting more dirt (not sand) between the sites to provide more usable space.

Every inch that wasnt paved was standing water. I felt like I was in the swamps. It looked horrible. I understand that it was mainly due to the unussual rain fall, but I had literaly less than 2 inches of concrete to stand on with my trailer parked on the pad. This left us with walking in the mud and water to get into the trailer.

We were in 1733 across the comfort station from Tig and Taz and across from Debbie the otter spotter. Sorry we missed you.

We remember your site. We commented on all of the UA stuff you had around. We did not see you around and didnt feel comfortable knocking on the door to see if you were "home". Not sure how people would take a "stranger" roaming around knocking on doors. haha

The rain was so torrential that it uncovered what appeared to be the top of septic tank between our site (1905) and the men's side of the comfort station. They need to work on the vegetation to stop the errosion.

Glad you had a nice time and enjoyed the parks! I was surprised how swampy everything looked. We arrived on Thurs, was in 1700 loop, but left Friday night due to tent leakage. lol. I wanna pop up!!

Sorry we missed you! Like Taz said, we were in 1730- but we had over a foot of standing water on one side of our site and a muddy swamp on hte other- which s why i had to put the Pup in sideways...lol...

We put our Dis sign in the dash of the van so it wouldnt get wet- I had also put up a note for when to meet up Sat night, ut most ppl didnt stop by cause of the rain... let it be stated that a little (or a lot as the case may be) of rain isnt gonna stop the Dis'ers :thumbsup2

Now I just need to figure out where our roof is leaking... sigh...

We will be there from July 1st til the 6th so hopefully we can meet up then!
