Our Weird and Wacky Canadian Weather!

:goodvibes Hello,

It sure was a beautiful day today! I am enjoying the nice sunny days! We live in Pictou County, N.S.:) I work at Tim Hortons, also a TDL connection!

I was over there yesterday visiting good friends of ours! My daughters BF also lives there! Pictou County is such a great place! :thumbsup2

Indeed it was a GORGEOUS day outside today! :cloud9:

Primary and grade, 5 KM and CM. I have picked them up before, but not this year. My daughter also works for CCRSB, in the Amherst office, but has made visits to your school. You must be going to Disney on March break, we aren't going until April this time, can hardly wait. Do you do mostly the parks?

They are great kids! I don't know K that well...they're rather shy still in primary...but C I know very well. I head our Year Book committee and he's one of my photographers! He's a wonderful boy! :)

This year we're going March 14 - 24th. So the week of March Break and most of the week after. It's our first time doing 10 days..in the past we've always done 2 weeks.

Actually this year is more R&R for us. Our last 2 times we've done every park, including Sea World, Aquatica, Busch, and US/IOA. By the time March rolls around it won't quite be a year since our last visit. We asked the kids what they wanted to do. Surprisingly they only want US/IOA (the new Wizzarding World of Harry Potter is now open) and they want to do water parks...looks like TL as BB will be closed for refurbisments.

I'm the Disney freak of the family so looks like I'll be the only one a little :sad1: we won't be doing Disney. Still not giving up on maybe sneaking off to MK or Epcot for one day though  Hoping to have a beach day...looking to do something different. We also enjoy doing the gift shops and going to the Florida mall for some shopping. Other than that..lazy days by the pool (we rent a house with a pool) and enjoying some R&R...with a nice drink in hand ;) Hubby and the kids tell me that was one of the best parts of our last trip...our down days by the pool! Last year we were back from the parks by early afternoon each day because we toured like pros ;) and saw/rode everyhing we wanted to by early afternoon. The kids always wanted to go back to the house rather than stay at the parks..we did however make it a full day at Epcot...it's our favorite park and our favorite fireworks show.

Do you usually stay onsite and do you usually fly out of Halifax?

I hear you on the crazy weather. I am actually in ontario where 324 cars were stuck on the 402, then there was all kinds of people stuck on backroads and secondary roads due too 6 foot snow drifts and zero visibility. Hopefully no weather like that again.

Rainbomist: Another spell of bad weather coming, I hope all the travellers for Disney get away on schedule.

We always stay offsite, we usually ony do one park each time, one dinner theatre, a couple of trips to DTD. Last year we had 7 day passes for US/IOA, we went during Mardi Gras to see the parade and Beach Boys, we also did the Blue Man Group last year. We also spend 3-4 days one the West Coast. We did a second trip this year, in September and did MNSSHP, it was fun. We like the R&R time as well. So nice to be without heavy jackets is a real treat.

We have friends going the same time that you are, they are staying at Lake Berkley I think. On e is a teacher soe March break is their time.

We always fly out of HFX. This year we are going with a US airline, so we will be able to clear customs and not have to touch luggage until we get there. A direct flight home. Last year we were able to go direct both ways. Where do you fly from?

Last year we flew non-stop fron Halifax..it was great! :thumbsup2 However we went the last week of April first week of May. I purchased our tickets on New Years day and got a really great deal, $2200 for 5 of us return.

This year the fares are really high :scared1: so I got a little antsy and we made the decision to make the drive to Boston and fly from there. We're flying non-stop with Air Tran. I got 5 return tickets for $998! We've decided to incorporate the drive as part of our trip..so we're leaving here the Saturday, driving to Kittery staying the night there..doing some shopping ;) then we're off to Boston and we'll stay there a night and fly out the next day. We're driving straight back on the way home. In 2007 we flew out of Boston in March with Delta and had no problems..hoping for the same result this time :worship: We'll have 10 full days in Florida and not doing all the parks I think we'll be fine timewise..4/5 days for parks and the rest is R&R! ;)

Did you enjoy Blue Man Group? I've been thinking about doing it..we've never seen them before..either that or I was thinking Cirque.

We did both, the Cirque was amazing, the BMG was quite funny. My hubby even enjoyed the Cirque, he said it was well worth the money. Two totally different shows. We did the Hoop Dee Doo Review dinner last year, it was really good as well. We are doing a Hawaiian dinner this year at Disney and probably Hollywood Studios. We planned our trip a little different this year, will only be in Orlando for 6 days, we are flying into Myrtle Beach and doing some touring for 6 days before we get to Orlando.

Sure is miserable out there today! Getting really tired of wind and rain

Thanks Dennise, I think I'll look into Cirque. I've always wanted to do O'hana's...was kind of saving it for a trip we stay onsite and get the dining plan though ;) I remember our first year we went, we went to Sci Fi and it cost us over $120 for burgers and fries!! :scared1: And they weren't even that great! lol

My parents always go for a few weeks and stay in St. Petes..they love it there! They too go in April...our last trips they met up with us and stayed with us a few nights but that was enough for them. They're not into the parks at all. They loved the experience with the grandchildren but didn't like the "go go go"...they did really enjoy Sea World though.
