Our weed smoking neighbors

I am in favor of decriminalizing but still annoyed each visit to Las Vegas since Nevada legalized recreational use. I have had to try multiple rental cars each trip to find one that does not reek. I have had to switch hotel rooms on some trips as well.

Same here. The entire LV strip reeks of it constantly. One more reason I won't go back.

Sounds like a bunch of NARCs to me....
agreed but burning plant material in a room is rude and there is no way to get that smell out with some major cleaning, balcony or vape. this makes people hate us.
I also will be in Vegas in a week but so find the irony of it being brought up hilarious. Party on Wayne

That’s so wrong. You are not allowed to smoke anything on the balconies. I think people think smoking pot is ok anywhere now. It’s not, it’s the same as smoking cigarettes, pretty much not acceptable at most places. Doing that is not only breaks Disney rules but also inconveniencing other guests. Not to mention guests who have their own medical issues with smoke. Like asthmatics. Geez!! Some people. :confused3
Thank you for bringing this up.
I remember when the ban on smoking in restaurants was up for debate in my area about 30 years ago. I recall telling people that I had a medical condition, and the smoke gave me quite a bit of trouble. Their solution was that I simply "stay home" if I had an issue with it. They did not see where their enjoyment of something shouldn't come before my right to breathe.

I think the marijuana thing might be pushing on the same argument, particularly if it's medical. Having said that, they can use something edible without it interfering with the health of others.

You know, if it was odorless and did not affect others, then I would have no issues with it. But the smell is VERY strong and offensive. Not everyone likes the smell either and that is putting aside anyone that it affects negatively. To many people, it smells like a mix of skunk and cat urine so I am sure that you can understand how many people would not want their belongings to smell that way. It is not personal against you, just the horrible smell. I can't imagine that you would like it if your neighbors had a seriously offensive odor, to you whatever that may be, coming into your personal space. I don't see that as unreasonable at all and I don't see why we should be called names for it.

Really? Really? Most people could care less that you smoke as long as it doesn't affect them.

I was at a local casino a few weeks back and it was obvious someone was smoking weed in the parking garage. Whatever, I was only walking to get to the elevators, so I looked at my friend and we both noted someone is feeling chill, and moved along our way. My only concern was that person didn't drive impaired. But that smell for the 30 seconds I was walking through was just a shrug of my shoulders. It is our world today, and it is what it is.

That said ...

I most certainly care if your stench is coming into a room I just plunked down a couple of grand for. Come on!! OP payed a lot of money only to have it aggravated and partially ruined by selfish neighbors smoking in the room -- which is not allowed! No Smoking means NO SMOKING. The smokers were in the wrong and all you can say is people are just a bunch of NARCS? Please. Take a step back and realize how incredibly selfish and rude that is. Their habit (which is forbidden in the hotel) was directly affecting someone else negatively.

That smell stinks!! And in the bathroom -- I don't want it lingering when I am trying to get clean. Those guests were selfish, point blank period. Nothing more to discuss.

NARCS ... I think not.

As the topic was well discussed a month ago when the thread was last active and we’re venturing towards dead horse status, closing.
