Our waitlist came through for 4 nights at BCV 1 bedroom. We are staying 11-11 to 11-15. We are booked at BWV and never stayed at either one.

I showed my kids the Kiester slide (they are 13 and 14) and now they say they don't want to go to BCV. Of course, they don't know anything about their slide and the pictures I showed probably don't give it much credit. I don't know much about it myself.

So, which is better? On one hand I hear these wonderful reports about BCV and I'm excited to finally be able to stay there, but I want the kids to have fun also. We've always stayed at OKW because hubby likes it quiet, but he's willing to sacrafice a stay somewhere else for us

TIA!

Well, if it's warm enough to swim, the pool at BC is the absolute best at WDW. It is twice as large as the one at BW. The BC pool has a huge slide, sand on the bottom of the pool, several waterfalls, an area where water shoots up like a hottub, a swirling water area, an area where the water is kind of like a lazy river for innertubes, an area for swimming distances, and an area for the tots where the water is about 18 inches deep. Lots of adults put chairs in the water there, and sit and read. The bad part is that it closes early, around 8, so you then have to go back to the quiet pools. Hurricane Hannah's sells real food, like hamburgers and stuff, and the ice cream shop is just outside the pool area, as is the arcade.

Have you showed them pictures of Stormalong Bay (BCV)? It is like a water park! I know that there are really good slide shows somewhere too. As a DVC member you can visit the clown pool if there are no restrictions the time you are going but you can't use Stormalong Bay unless you are staying there. BWV is only a short (5 min) walk from BCV. :thumbsup2

They will love SAB at the BCV.

This picture is of the ship wreck ship that you climb the mast of to reach the beginning of the slide: (Link)

This (Link) is to a number of pictures. Scroll down to the end and you will see the SAB pictures.

Have fun.

If you stay at BCV, you can pool hop over the the Boardwalk's pool. However, if you stay at BWV, you CANNOT pool hop over to Stormalong Bay.

We just spent a week at the Boardwalk and have the best time. I am definately adding on there. The evenings at the boardwalk with the entertainment, the yummy treats and the soccer and football games for my young children in the courtyard area right by the BW were the highlights of our trip. I think my kids will remember those before they remember any of the things at the parks. Even if you don't stay here, definately make it over to the BW. They definately have captured the magic of Disney.

Excellent point- I would definitely think SAB will be the better pool for that age but at least if they want to try the BWV pool you can do that also with just a short pleasant walk around the boardwalk. Stayed at BWV once in 1998 and while the slide is nice it really doesn't offer as much as all the things put together at the SAB complex.

Good luck with your decision and have a wonderful trip.

I just switched over to BCV and actually added one more night :) Hurray :cheer2:

You guys brought up great points and DH said to switch it over. Now, just hoping for airfare to go down again....Last year from CA it only cost us 181.00 per person. Now its up to 350.00. One step at a time though :rolleyes1

Thanks to everyone who posted and pixie dust for those of you waiting for yours to come through!
