Hi

DAY One - WDW Hereeeee WE COME

left Mass on Friday the 9th for WDW. Now considering i am NOT a good flyer I was pretty proud of how i handled the very rapidly deteriorating road conditions and the many delays at the airport. We flew out during snow storm, made it to the airport, onto the plane, ready for takeoff when the airport shut down the runways for 30 minutes.. We get de-iced, back in line to take off - closed down again. back in line, de-iced and finally after a 3 hour delay we take off, up above the clouds and smooth sailing from there on.

Check in at BW 2 bdrm Standard around 2:30 - room is ready (4111 & 4109) then off to meet ds#1 at MGM just as the rain began in Fl had just enuf time for a quick ride on ToT and RRC before ds had to go to work and we had 6pm ps at Whispering Canyons. As usually good bbq and lots of fun. the resort was decorated beautiful and we even got to enjoy a really nice christmas bell concert performed by what appeared to be middle school age kids.

Back to EPCOT to meet ds#1 again and to watch Illuminations (LoVe these Fireworks)

DAY TWO

DH & I are out early to get to the grocery store before the boys (ds2-18, ds3-14 & ds3 friend-14) get up. Return around 10:00 just in time to meet our very good friends and thier two boys, 18 & 14 years old who booked at bw view studio on the 5th floor for the week. Hubby returns our car rental to the dolphin and off we go to EPCOT; fp for soaring, imaginations, MS, Helen Energy Adventure, test trax, break for Fish & Chips and a beer or two for lunch for adults, youngest boys ate in China and the older boys went to america.
Time for soaring (love the smells)then spaceship earth then. A quite nite at bw and viewing the decorations at dolphin, swan, and beach club then late dinner at ESPN Zone with ds#1 & room mate.

DAY THREE and FOUR were spent at Animal Kingdom (can't wait for Mt E. to be completed), MGM and EPCOT with dinner at Cape May, sushi at Wolfgang Pucks and pizza delivered.

DAY FIVE
DH & Friend off to Eagle Pines for a morning of golf, all the boys slept late than heading for DQ, Me and Monica head to the spa for a relaxing morning enjoying the steam room, hot tub, a wrap and massage...we are all back at bw (including ds1) by 3:30pm. A few hours to relax at the resort before we all head off to MVMCP. Dinner at 6:45 at Liberty Tavern (GREAT Food - GREAT Service-not an easy feat with a party of 11-GREAT fun). Quick ride on TM then SM - somehow at this point I lose my WHOLE party (i gave my cell phone to ds# - incase he got lost ) Well after a few minute of look, i gave up, figured i would met up with them at some point and i was not going to spend my nite looking for people. So off i go to HM, MP, SWSR, and SM. then off to watch the fireworks - good but illuminations is still my favorite. Tinkerbell looked really cool, all lite up. Back to space mountain and lo & behold theres my family. The young boys do the astro ride, and the older ones- no idea why - head for the race cars. Then we all head over to Frontierland to watch the parade - if feel like a little kid everytime i see the wooden soldiers.

Wednesday - our last day - ds 1 comes over and we celebrate christmas since he won't be done with his CP until Jan. 3rd. then off to all our favorite rides, EPCOT for test trax, soaring then DQ, then jump on the monorail to the MK for buzz lightyear, Space Mtn, Mickey's PM, Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mtn then Splash Mtn. The boys head to bw while dh & I head to dolphin to visit Melissa, our favorite car rental agent. We all meet up again, head to Logans for an early dinner than back to MGM for RRC (twice) ToT (twice) and ds1 hasn't seen the osborne lites yet (he WORKS at MGM) so off to view them again - which really isn't a hardship since they are sooo amazing. The boys have had enuf and head back to the room for homework (yup HOMEWORK) and to watch a movie. DH & I just cant let go, we have to soak up every minute of the parks while we are there so back to EPCOT for a very leisurely two hour walk around the world.

We stop at UK for one last look at the Holiday Illum. and while waiting a very nice women invited us and another couple to join her private party. So on our last nite we enjoyed a front row seat to this amazing show with cookies, lemon bars - to die for- brownies - also to die for, coffee, tea or hot chocolate at our desposal and a very comfy park bench all to ourselves. What a wonderful way to end a really FANTASTIC TRIP.

a few observations:

seems like there were more people at wdw this year than last, the hotel lobbies were always crowded, the resturants were full and there were alot of people mulling around all week but NO ONE was on the rides, we walked on every ride except for Soaring, even Test Trax was a walkon, it was kindof strange, nice but strange.

Seemed like there were less decorations in the resorts, both Beach Club and Boardwalk displays were beautiful but less elaborate than last year, smaller displays.

Around midnite on Wednesday (12/14) EPCOT lit off a preview (practice run) of their New Year's Eve fireworks along with music and narration - for those going for the the New Years Eve celebration your really going to enjoy illuminations that nite - so powerful they set off the car alarms in the bw parking lot.

WDW is such a wonderful place to forget your worries and reality. of course we were hit with it pretty hard upon our return home, as NE was hit with a snow & ice storm on Friday the 16th.....

Next trip May 7th, Tuesday I start to plan for Thanksgiving 2006

 Hi
Thanks for sharing your trip. I had wondered about the crowds during your stay and I got my answer. We would like to visit sometime during the holiday season and had been thinking about the 1st or 2nd week in December. After reading your report and seeing the Holiday Special on the Food Network last night it makes me wish I were there. :goodvibes

Wishing you a Magical Christmas and New Year!

I agree with you on the crowd patterns. There were huge amounts of people milling about and our hotel lobby and dining areas were packed, yet the waits for rides were short to none. Even Soarin had only a 25 minute wait. Very strange but great for us!

Great report. Can't wait to go back during the holidays. Last year we left in a snow storm in November and I'm not a great flyer. But I made it, and and feel better about flying now for some reason.

BTW, grew up next door in Ware.

Thank you - the preholiday is a great time to go - the first Dec we went we were like, how do you get into the holiday spirit without cold weather and snow Wow do they get into it, even the toll booth areas are all decorated, I love florida this time of year

Suzabel - What a small world.

I actually think it was easier to fly in the snow storm than during thunder and lightening
