Well my husband,Mike, really outdid himself on this one! He totally surprised me! Here's the story.
It was day 4 of our week long trip. We started out the morning at MK doing the breakfast in Cinderella's Castle. We were all getting tired by day 4, so I unknowingly played right into his plan when I suggested that we take it easy today and return to the POP for an afternoon swim/nap for us all. So, after the breakfast we hopped on a few Fantasyland rides until about 11ish when it started to get more crowded. As we were leaving Mike wanted to go on the monorail over to the Grand Floridian just to "walk around" and see what it's like.
Aly wanted to change her clothes since she was wearing her blue Belle dress for the breakfast. When she and I came out of the bathroom at the Grand Floridian, a Cast Member asked me to come with him. He said my husband had to use a bathroom all the way over by the pool and he'd show us where he went. I was surprised when he told us to get in the golf cart and he was driving us all around. I even made a comment to the driver "Boy, he really left us high and dry".
Eventually, the driver stopped and pulled out my wedding bouquet (silk flowers) and a white lacy hankie I had used at our wedding. He handed it to me and I was confused and wondering what Mike was up to. Later, I found out that he had fed-ex shipped those items to the Grand Floridian ahead of time. Isn't that sweet? He couldn't find my veil at home, so he bought me a set of white sequin Mickey Ears with a little veil attached to wear. I am so glad he bought those! What a perfect keepsake! I would've much rather had those than my original veil considering where we were.
The golf cart driver pulled up and let Aly and I off at the Grand Floridian dock, where I saw Mike and Jessa on a white yacht. Jessa handed me the Ears to wear. Mike said "I have a special guest here to see you" and the sliding glass doors on the yacht came open and out stepped our Pastor who had married us. He also dedicated both our girls. He is at a different church now, but we still occassionally keep in touch. It was REALLY special that Mike had arranged for him to do the ceremony for us. Mike flew him in that day and Happy Limo picked him up at the airport and also took him back. It was alot of travel for staying in Florida with us for just a few hours-so I was very touched.
We did our vows to each other again on the lower deck. We both had tears in our eyes. It's just so nice to know that after 10 years of marriage, he still would do it all over again. He would still pick me. That is just very comforting. The captain and first mate took a video of it for us on our camera.
We set sail for 2 hours and had a nice lunch that Mike had ordered.
The ride was nice and the lady on the boat who was the first mate, "Sharon," played with Jessa alot and drew pictures with her so that I could have a little break and relax. She was the nicest lady and so good with the kids. She was bending over backwards to bring us lemonade, take pictures with our camera etc.
After our 2 hours on the yacht were over, we took Pastor back to the Grand Floridian and rode the monorail loop around once because he had never been to WDW before. We visited in the lobby a short time, then he got picked up by Happy Limo. So our family went back to the Magic Kingdom.
It was very thoughtful of Mike to think of celebrating our 10 yr. wedding anniversay this way. He knows I love Disney and he thought it would mean alot to do it there. I'm glad it was a big surprise. But, had I known, I would've worn makeup to the park that day and done my hair! I looked so sweaty and hot! It was really neat to explain to Aly what the vows meant since she's older and could understand.
Here's a picture of all of us and Pastor.
So what do you think? Romantic huh? He planned this all two weeks before we left on vacation too! He wanted the Cinderella carriage, but said it was very expensive. The wedding chapel was unavailable, so that's how we got the yacht. It was very nice. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the common area with the kitchen/table/couches were inside. It's the same yacht that does the Fireworks cruises. Isn't he sweet???
If you want to read about the kids and our whole trip report-it is in this section, but another seperate post.
