We will be tent camping at the fort in a couple of weeks. As we make our preparations I had a few questions for you experts :goodvibes.

Are there grills at all the campsites? We have decided to do a bit of cooking rather than eat out ALL of the time but trying to cut down on the amount of gear we have to take.

Where is the closest place to buy dry ice and groceries? Grocery stores around here have dry ice but I wasn't sure about the grocery stores around FW.

The whole family is super excited about this trip and we can't wait. I certainly hope the weather cools down-it still feels like summer here in NC.

I'm a lurker here, and I've never camped at Fort Wilderness-someday, I hope!!-but I believe there are grills at all sites.

There's a sticky at the top of the forum threads for the Fort FAQs, it lists a bunch of grocery stores.

Yes, there are grills at each campsite and there are grocery stores not far from the Fort.
Sorry, I do not know about the dry ice.

Others have answered your q's, but I just wanted to say howdy from another NCer  and cool screen name! Have fun on your trip!

Thanks! We can't wait. I am a bit worried about the drive with 2 kids from Eastern NC. Last time we went to DW we flew and the longest road trip the kids have ever been on is 6 hours. They love to camp and they love DW I just hope DH and I fair as well ;).

I'm jealous! October weather should be nice.

Let us know how it all turned out.
