well it seems like it will be here before I know it ( Jan 14 ) and I still have a little chunk to pay off before dec 16th :scared1: I know I will have it paid off by then but does anyone else get a little stressed about paying for their vacation or is it just me? How do u guys budget.. I say I will pay so much per check but it seems like if I dont pay disney first ( :lmao: ) then I end up spending alot of the money on something else... anyways just wondering if I was the only one who stresses? But on the other hand it is the best feeling in the world besides actually being there to get your little package and know your trip is paid for and your ready to go :cool1:

I am stressing too. I am headed to the park January 26th, and instead of all the wonderful money saving I should have been doing, I have overspent. as a result I panicked to the point of taking a part time second job at Walmart to pay for Disney. Now that the panic is over, I realize that I could do it on my own and there was no need for worry, but I am looking at the bright side, I will only be working till the end of November and I will have all my credit cards paid off to boot. Next trip I think I will book a package and pay monthly so I can just enjoy instead of stressing.

LOL I agree.. hubby is working the overtime.. to get us back on track.. I just kept putting it off and now I only have 3 more pay days until it needs to be paid off.. good thing hubby gets paid weekly.. lol.. I just made a nice payment today so it is looking a lot better.. :)

Oh my gracious!! I thought I was the only one! I have a total panic attack a few weeks before every trip... We cant afford it!! We have to cancel!!!! Why did we think we could do this??? :scared: But then we get it done, and have a great vacation!:thumbsup2 I know one thing that works well for us, is to have a package. That way we can prepay the trip, and not have to worry bout having all the money saved up. Because I am a terrible saver! If I have money, i will spend it on something I "need".:sad2: We have done 2 trips without having it in a package, because we had AP's and we barely scraped through! And tell me about the dh working overtime! I dont think I will see my dh again til our next trip!:rotfl2: (that and we are trying to buy a house..)

We put it on our credit card & pay it off after Christmas bonus time. We are lucky we can do it that way but as an adult planning this trip (only did one other one as a parent, I paid for it w/ my tax return) I can see just how stressful it must have been on my g-parents.

They were on a fixed income, they had 7 grandkids (plus 3 kids, in-laws & one elderly parent so 16 family members total!!!) & they made sure EVERYONE went on a family trip together once each g-child was old enough. Still not sure how the did it..... :confused3 However, when I was a kid you flew out Thursday, went to DL on Friday, & flew home on Saturday....maybe THAT was how they did it! :wizard: My gramma & grampa were magic.

Here is what I do...

I do an excel spread sheet with each pay day on it and the bills that need to come out of that check. So every pay check I put everything in my check register even if I don't have to pay it right away, that way in my check book the money is already gone and when I have to send a payment the next week I can. I put everything from gas to bills to savings in it as soon as I get paid and what is left over is left over. Works well in my mind.

I would make a payment as soon as you get paid so that you don't accidentally spend it.
