Yesterday DH and I decided to add another night to our vacation. When I called CRO to add the night, they had me booked in STANDARD room!!!! WHAT????????????I booked this back in January. I am supposed to have a WOODS (at WL) view! After holding for about ten minutes, all was resolved. They still have plenty of rooms!

We are staying five nights at the WL in a woods view room, plan to get PS for :Whispering Canyon (b&d), Artist Point & Cub's Den (for DS), Chef Mickey (Thanksgiving dinner), Teppanyaki, Crystal Palace AND we are doing the first night of MVMCP.

We have the money now to pay for the whole trip. I am still hoping for AP rates during our stay. Last year they were very good (I think the FL res rates were blacked out, but not sure). I am nervous. You don't have as much invested when just going for a weekend at the All Stars . What do you do to stay healthy? Sane??? To top it off, DS is starting Kindergarten ad we will have him out two days (wed and mon). He is pretty advanced, so I'm not real worried. I will be starting grad school this fall, but will not miss any classes for this trip.

I am really excited, but nervous!!! Please help with any tips for making my "dream vaca" less stressful/ more enjoyable!!!!

did I mention how HAPPY we are:D :D :D ?!!!

You will love the Lodge, especially at that time of year. It is the best! I wuld not be concerned about taking a child in kindergarten out of school for 2 days. While I am not an advocate of children missing school for vacation, I think at that age it is pretty much a non-issue (imho).

That is great! We have a woods view room booked for August! We cannot wait! Have a wonderful dream vacation!!!!!!

Be warned - our first trip to DW was to WL woods view - ate at many of the places you are planning on - and it caused us to buy into DVC and make about 5 more trips in the past 2 years. Leaving next week for another one!

The planning and anticipation is half the fun - have a great time!

Do not worry about taking your child out of kindergarten for two days. Of course, let the teacher know well in advance. Journal with your child each day at the end of the day...it's a great momento, and is wonderful for sharing when back at school (you can make a personalized notebook with Disney stickers) Let your child use a disposible camera and add the developed photos to the journal. Take plenty of film so you can take lots of pictures yourself!!

We will be there shortly after you will. Though staying off-property, Wilderness Lodge and the Whispering Canyon are *must* sees. Have a wonderful vacation!

I would be excited too. You are going to have a magical trip :)

Here's a trick my daughter's kindergarten teacher taught me when we went to Disneyland for a week. Her class wrote a letter to Mickey and they all signed it. Her teacher gave her strict instructions to be sure to give it directly to Mickey when we were there.

We went to a character breakfast and my daughter gave the letter to Mickey and said it was from her class. He read it and gave her a hug and handed the letter to a CM. The first day she was back at school, her class received a letter from Mickey along with a signed photograph of Mickey & Minnie in front of the castle!

She was so proud and pleased to be the one to deliver the class's letter! It helped that her teacher was a Disney fanatic, too, and was just tickled to pieces that we were taking her there! It was really special to have a little bit of the magic follow her home.

Have a great time!
