Day 8 – 3/5

Today is the day I have not been looking forward to… our last day in the parks. The last 7 days have gone so fast, I can’t believe we are going home tomorrow.

We get up our early normal time, yet this morning we have a destination for breakfast… Chef Mickey’s. We catch the bus, head over to MK, then onto the Monorail. There is no one waiting, so I ask the CM if we can ride up front, even if it’s only for a few seconds. So here we are, on our last day, riding in the front of the Monorail to the Contemporary. The kids really enjoyed this, and I’m thinking since we’re early for our PSs, we probably had enough time to ride the monorail once around before going to eat, but oh well…onto breakfast.

Breakfast was good, nice selection of food. Got to see everyone but Minnie who arrived at our table while we were going for seconds (or was it thirds)? The boys weren’t disappointed about missing her. After breakfast we went to MK. Did Buzz, TTA, then the boys and I rode Space Mountain, DH chickened out. After finishing up things in Tommorowland I couldn’t figure out why there were no lines, and then we walked into Adventureland. That’s where everyone was!!! We saw PhilharMagic which was wonderful and I wish I had seen it again before we left, had to Fastpass Peter Pan, did the tea cups, and Snow White before going back to Peter Pan.

Wandered around until 4pm… hit Main street to do some last minute shopping (bad idea), came home with more than I had anticipate to, stopped to get a candy apple to bring back to NY for my mom. Headed to the monorail at 4:45pm to make our 6 pm PSs at O’Hanas. Get to the monorail, and look, no one’s there. Ask the CM if we can ride in front, and yep we can (Yea twice in one day!!) We are at the Poly very early, 5pm, walk around the resort and check in at 5:40.

Now the reasoning behind checking in early was to ask for a window seat and let the host know I’d be willing to wait for a window table. So we check in thinking we’d be waiting at least 20 minutes for a table, but nope… we are seated right away. Not directly at the window, but within 5 feet with an unobstructed view of the castle. So now I’m thinking how are we going to make dinner last for 1 ½ hours so we can see Wishes, and at the same time keep 2 boys happy? Well, thank goodness for Gameboys!! The boys played before the food arrived, in between the meats being brought to the table, and after dinner. What can I say… my boys are Gameboy addicts!!

DH and I had a nice dinner, the kids picked at the food. We talked, and just enjoyed the meal. We ordered coffee and dessert just to make it to 7pm. Then the lights dimmed, the music started, and WOW, what a show!!! Watching Wishes from O’Hanas was an experience in itself. I saw so many things within the fireworks that I missed when we saw it at the castle. I was blown away!! Even the kids stopped playing GameBoy to watch.

So after Wishes, we paid the bill, made a bee-line to the Monorail, got off at MK, and were on the bus back to POR. Our vacation had come to an end.

We (I) spent the remainder of the evening trying to figure how to pack all the things we had bought, and get ready for our 11am flight home the next day.

Early to bed… tomorrow is back to reality!

The not so good… We have to go home tomorrow

The great… Riding in front of the Monorail… TWICE, and watching Wishes from O’Hanas.

What a great way to end your last day. I was up late packing that night too! Alex laughed when I packed an extra suitcase inside the bigger one but I had it totally filled for the trip home.

We weren't real happy with the Chef Mickey's breakfast. The food was cold and we were stuck in a corner away from everything. Riding in the front of the monorail is really neat!:teeth: We bought an extra suitcase to bring all the stuff we bought there.
