Our Thanksgiving Trip-It was like herding cats! 7/16-FINAL THOUGHTS ARE DONE!!!!

Thanks for writing such a great trip report. After my Thanksgiving TR I am taking a break for a while. I did have a great time alone in april. It was so nice to be able to do what I wanted to do..... when I wanted to do it. luckily I have family (dbf family) in the area, so I did no have to do dinner alone...

When I just went with my Mom and Aunt, I was out the door at least 2 hours before them so I got a lot done while they were relaxing.

I cannot wait for "Deep Thoughts by Sarah"... :)

I've been! Lots of fun. My pics are from before we had our digital camera so I don't have any on the computer. The parade is great. You guys should dress up too! If you have any questions let me know.

Thanks I love parades and do the have fireworks on Tuesday? What would be good costumes for our 4 big guys group?

I found this and thought you might find it as awesome as I did....lol

Allison, thanks so much for reading my report and for the compliments on the kiddos! I'm glad you posted and I hope the report was helpful and/or at least amusing. (It was definitely scary at points though :rolleyes1 ).

Still working on those final thoughts (and my working on, I mean haven't started yet ;) ) but I vow to actually post them, so that I can say I really did finish this thing!

Thanks to anyone still out there! :grouphug:

Sara:

I just saw that you had posted. In one of your comments your refer that you do not know when your next trip will be. I thought I read that you were going in October to MNSSHP. I was looking forward to that report as I want to do that next year. Did your plans change?

We are now almost 4 months away for our Thanksgiving trip. Delta changed our flights but luckily I called and I guess we will fly earlier. I upgraded to Deluxe Dining to try more sit down restaurants and use that for our breaks. Do I remember that you ate at Whispering Canyon? Was it good?

Erika, yes, we are thinking about October with Shawn's side of the family for Katie's birthday. I will most likely do a report.

Your 4 months will fly by! Woo-hoo on the earlier flight and the Deluxe Dining - way to upgrade!

We did go to Whispering Canyon. We really enjoyed the food and the kids loved the "atmosphere". The ketchup fiasco (among other things) was a lot of fun for them. It is not a quiet place, so go prepared for a lot of noise. We were right next to the girl who was leading a lot of the antics that night and she was using a microphone - yikes! It was loud! On the other hand, with little kids, you don't have to worry about them "acting" up and making too much racket! :lmao: Where else are you planning on eating? Will you be doing a report? I would love to read it. :thumbsup2

Hi Sara:

I will probably do a report. I usually Christmas shop prior to Thanksgiving so I should have time. My friends are in Disney right now so I really have the "I Can't wait to Go to Disney" bug this week. DH says all I do is stay on the Dis or our buddy Mike.

Here are my plans right now:

11/25 Arrive at MCO at 10:45, check in at CR, head to DHS (this is our least favorite park so we will not need a full day), dinner at 50's Prime Time and late Fantasmic show (cannot wait as we have never seen it before)

11/26 AK at Rope Drop, late breakfast at Donalds Safari Breakfast, hope there will be an advance show of Jingle Jungle parade but will catch on 11/28 if we have to, dinner at Boma that evening and then AK EMH. I know this is a yellow day but DS wants to ride Everest when it is dark (dear Lord, help me, he is a coaster junky like his father)

11/27-Thanksgiving Day, character breakfast at 1900 Park Faire, DS has a Pirate Cruise from the GF from 9:30 - 11:30. This is a surpise for him. Late lunch at Kona Cafe at the Poly. I want to book a carriage ride around Ft. Wilderness that evening and then do Spectro at MK. I know MK will be a busy day but we will just go for the parade.

11/28-MK at rope drop, late lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Will go to AK if needed to catch Jingle Jungle parade. Otherwise, DHS for the Osborne Lights and then a late dinner at 1900 Park Faire Character Dinner. This one is for me, I will admit. I want to see the stepsisters and I know DS would love them.

11/29-Early breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Epcot Day. CP package for very early dinner at Garden Grill.

11/30-Early breakfast at CRT. We will spend a few hours in MK and then off to bed we go. Tonight is MVMCP. We have early dinner at LTT.

12/1-Breakfast at Ohana's with Lilo and Stich. Early afternoon flight home.

DH is back to the you better enjoy this vacation as I want to go somewhere else next year. So, I decided to spend more money and upgrade to Deluxe Dining so we could take in more Character dinners while Jeremy is 6. We have never ate TS in prior trips so he is looking forward to that but I know that his love of Characters will end soon. Boy, they grow up way toooo fast.

I hope you get your trip in October.

Looks great Erika.
Boy though, you are a stronger woman than me - if I had a MK view at the Contemporary it would be really hard to check in and then go to.... DHS? :scared1: I would be itching to get in the MK! But it looks like the perfect day in your trip for it, so I think you made a good choice - least favorite park, don't need to be there for RD, etc, etc...but you might want to not let your son see the view from the hotel room! Well, if he likes Star Wars at all, you can entice him over to the Studios with that! :lmao: Are you going to try and see the Osborne lights that night? Might be a good night for them. :confused3

I wouldn't worry too much about the AK EMH. I have heard that they are really not bad and that park at night is supposed to be really pretty! I can imagine that Everest is pretty neat at night. You're gonna ride it, right? :rolleyes1

Thanksgiving Day sounds great! If you get the carraige ride at Ft Wilderness you could check out Chip n Dale's Campfire and Movie! We didn't make it over there after dinner on Thanksgiving, but I really wanted to. Looks like a nice way to wrap up Thanksgiving.

Spectro is a must during the trip, but on Thanksgiving? Brave! Being at the CR will make it easy though - you can just hop in and watch by the train station and then hightail it out of there ahead of the mass crowds. :crowded: But you will have to get there really early to get a spot to see at all, so I'm not sure at what times the carraige ride ends. Could you see Spectro on Friday? :confused3 Might be a little less crowded (a little ;) )

Friday sounds great - you know how I feel about the MK in the AM on the day after T-giving, right? Wonderful! Enjoy it! And the stepsisters at Park Fare should be a hoot!

Love Chef Mickey's for bkfast and GG for lunch. Enjoy the CP - it was breathtaking! We loved dining in the castle back in 2006 - a must for every girl AND boy, I think (well, at least a 6 year old boy who will still be enthralled with being in the castle). I have never been to LTT or the party - sounds like such a fun time! Lots of cookies and hot chocolate. O'hana's breakfast sounds really yummy!

You have a great trip planned and I can't wait to read all about it. :yay: I will be so jealous to see those MK view pictures from the Contemporary! I'm sure it will be breathtaking!

Sara

Sara,

Yes, I am going to ride Everest and everything else DH and DS drags me on. I rode Everest for the first time in Spring 2007. We did a two day in the park, beach trip. Tom and Jeremy sat in front of me and a thrill junky sat with me behind them. The guy was so nice. He knew I was scared to death. He talked the entire ride letting me know what was coming next. It made it easier. The picture from the ride is hilarious. :rotfl2: There is Tom with his hands in the air (thrill junky's was too), Jeremy has that amazed look in his eyes, and as for my eyes, they are tightly closed with a death grip on the lap bars. :rotfl2: Actually, I am ready for it this time and have even agreed to RNR and ToT.

I am hoping that we can catch Osborne Lights the first night we are there so we don't have to go back to DHS. Disney has on their site that they do not open this year until Nov 28, Friday after Thanksgiving. That is the same day for CP at Epcot and even the parade at AK.

I will definitely TRY to do a report when I come back. I am an accountant by trade so I am very detail-oriented so hopefully I will not bore everybody.

Looking forward to your final comments,
Erika
