My DH and I flew SW on Sept 28 at 5:30. We sat on PHL runway for 2 hours due to storms coming in from the West. We were not pleased but the flight crew was great. We did not get to CR untill 11:00 and missed our dinner reservation.

Well today SW sent an apology letter, which was great and they also sent a voucher for future travel. I thought maybe $25 tops. Well they are for $100 each. Good untill next Sept. This will be great for our August trip. :cool1:

I love SW. :lovestruc

Wow, that's great! I sat in Minneapolis yesterday for over 3 hours because of weather in Philadelphia (where I was connecting), we were not permitted to take off until they had a landing slot for us. This was USAirways. Plus my luggage did not make it onto my new connection, it was delivered today. Got home at 1:00am, was originally supposed to land in Pittsburgh around 7:00pm. We'll see if they send anything, I would be surprised.

Customer service. It's why South West is making money.

Debbie,
I was just wondering if you saw this thread! if not, i was going to send it to you. Maybe you should try writing to them although it's not like you need the miles :teeth: , but still, it might not hurt - get a few drink vouchers - lol - :drinking1

:thumbsup2

SWA is the best in my books .

They just had another artical about the assigned seating and it looks like they have to look into more. The people wanting it to stay still outdoes the ones wanting the assigned seats.

If they go that way they will just be like Jetblue and the other discount carriers.

Funny you mentioned drinks, on my MSP/PHL flight they did not announce it but they were not charging for drinks, a guy next to me got a glass of wine free and 2 guys in the row ahead of me got free beers, the FA waived off the money. I got upgraded to first class on the PHL/PIT flight but did not get an alcoholic drink, I was afraid I would fall asleep driving home!

I was on a Northwest flight once that was delayed 3 hours because of mechanical, they did give me 1,000 bonus miles without even asking.

My DW was sitting on the Tarmac with you on a Delta flight. Was supposed to be home at 10 and didn't get in until 1:30.

Good deal on the SW voucher.

Me too, Wow, I was on that flight as well, just myself and my two dd's. I actually just logged on to post that all three of us got the vouchers today - I was thirlled. I felt that the crew did a great job of keeping everyone informed and even serving drinks. I would have continued to fly SWA anyway but its nice to be treated fairly.

So awesome to hear of the great customer service SWA is providing! We like to fly them anyway whenever we have a chance.

That is really impressive! We had the exact same thing happen when flying Northwest, only we weren't given any vouchers. What great customer service!

I also will continue to fly SW we really like them and with usually flying with 6 including my DM you cannot beat their prices or their flying times.

The vouchers were really nice, since weather is not SW fault. They must have felt bad about you being stuck in the plane, as opposed to being delayed in the terminal.
