Our surprise trip to Disney. But did we have a good time?

Welcome to my first TR. I noticed your pink ribbon. Good for you for fighting and beating breast cancer! I had a scare a year ago and it ended up being nothing but I'll tell you I do my monthy exams now.

Thanks; it will be 3 years in February; we had a scare last month...they found a lump, did a biopsy--but it was negative! :)

Day 2- MNSSHP(since I don't remember exactly the order we did thing I'll clump it all together)

After eating at CP we went to change into our costumes, the girls were Shappay's one in the pink dress and in the blue dress, I wore scrubs with Mickey and the gang that was Halloween themed and DH was a pirate.
I was wondering if the party was going to be worth the $200+ we paid and for the fact that every ride was a walk on and the line for the fairies was 10 minutes, it was SO worth it. But while I'm glad we did it once I don't feel the urge to do it again. As you could see from the pic we were loaded on the candy and got the Star Wars tooth brushes. It was fun to be a little kids again and trick or treat. We saw the Tremain sister and the Cindy's stepmother strolling around by Dumbo and they wondered over to the dance party with Daisy and Minnie. Dumbo was even 5 min. wait, didn't think I would ever see that. There was another dance party in Tomorrowland with Pluto, Goofy and Stich(I think he was there). DD6 danced with Pluto. Alice thought DH was a vampire and she said to me to be careful he may bite me. I told her that would be OK and when we saw her later in the night she says "Oh, it the girl who likes to be bitten" It was funny. There was no wait for Speedway, Barnstormer, and the Tea cups. We walked by Snow and her 7 friends and the line was very long. DH stopped and got a randon pic but it didn't turn out. The line for the face painting was also long so we didn't do that, which was fine as it was HOT and the girls would have rubbed it off anyways I'm sure.
We stopped to see Tink she was the only fairy in the Meet and Greet. She was very afraid of DH pirate:and ran away from him, the interaction she had with the girls was great, she had them listening for the new fairyies to be born and grabbed their hand and showed them around her Hollow. I think that was the best part of the night for me. She had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. We stopped to watch the fireworks and I wish I had done more research, we watched them from the bridge on the side of the castle by Crystal Palace, it was not a good spot there were trees blocking the view. We could see them through the tree just not very well. Lastly was the parade and we were on Main St. and the crowds were not bad at all, found a spot right on the curb, it was relaxing to sit and watch without being pushed and squished. The parade was fun. Looking at the pics now and seeing the girls faces we should have gone straight "home" and to bed but when we got back to the hotel we went swimming. It was 1AM:eek: and we were swimming. The girls thought that was crazy but it was hot and felt good. By the time we got out it was chilly and a long walk back to the room.

Overall it was a good but tiring day. Tomorrow- Day 3 is Epcot. Will the girls continue to fight over who sits in the stroller or do we "forget" it somewhere? That's right a stroller for a 6 and 9 y/o, never again!!!:headache:

I think I have lost everyone. Been bust the past few days with the kids out of school:teacher:. Hopefully more to come tomorrow.

Thanks for sticking with me, this is day 5 with the kids being off of school. Thurs. and Fri. for MEA and today for a staff planning day, isn’t that what MEA is for? This is my second attempt at this the first time I typed it up and lost it as I tried to post it.

On to Day 3- EPCOT

We slept in again today(as we did everyday):cloud9: and had breakfast in the room. After a short wait for the bus we are off to Epcot. We started off doing Spaceship Earth, we missed it on our last visit as it was closed for refurbishment. I’m not sure why but I like this attraction. Then we are off to Innoventions East, there isn’t a whole lot to do there. The kids did an interactive activity that teaches how to prepare for a weather emergency. But that was all that the girls want to do. Test Track is calling us. DD6 didn’t want to go on this but I told her she didn’t have a choice. Did she really think I would put her on a ride the she could get hurt on. After many tears and a lot of whining and several looks from the other people in line with us I pretty much told her to shut it as I had heard enough. And after all the drama, she loved it. “Can we go on again” she says. So back in line. We were the next group to go in I see the movie and they overhead announce that there will be a slight delay and it would just be a minute. After 10 min. they closed the ride down and gave everyone in line FP’s.
By now it’s time for lunch, so we head over to the Electric Umbrella for the driest hamburgers ever. But they filled our tummies and we are rested and ready for more. Onto to Nemo and Friends, and to see the fish and manatees. The girls didn’t want to stay and see Crush. Why I don’t know, it has AC and it was Hot outside. Once we go out I heard “Mom look ice cream, can we have some?” Sure even though we just finished lunch,we are on vacation right! Next is Soarin’ the wait says 50 min. but all the wait times have been off so we decided to wait. We chatted with the people behind us in line and they said we would not be disappointed. And after 40 min we are in. And not disappointed in the least. So we grab FP’s and will be back again later.
We decided to see if Test Track is up and running which it is and so back on. DD6 loves it again. DD9 want to try Mission Space, DD6 doesn’t, so she and DH head over to Innoventions West but on the way they came across the Meet and Greet for Disney Visa Card member and inside is Goofy and Minnie so they had a visit with them. Myself and DD9 decide to go on the mild side of Mission Space. My tummy just can’t handle those kind of rides as I get older I almost get nauseated. No fun.
We meet back up and it’s time to head to United Kingdom and the Rose and Crown. DH and I both had the fish and chips. The meal was OK, not great but just OK, The girls didn’t like their food at all. DH said our dog wouldn’t have eaten the buttered noodles they tried to give DD6. But they had ice cream sundaes for dessert, so life is good.
It is Saturday and the Food and Wine festival is going on the World Showcase is a zoo. I have never been all the way around the lake and I don’t really want to now either, but DH want to get pics with Sunny from all around the world. So onward. The girls are really whining about who gets to sit in the stroller next and I am getting cranky and a tad irritable and tired myself. But we made it. DD9 and I go on Maelstrom in Norway, DD6 and DH waited. The wait was only 5 min.
Soarin’ was calling us again. We were in the top row this time and had a blast. It feels like you are actually flying. On the way to find a spot to watch Illumnations, we tried to find the Cool Zone where you can taste Coke products from all around the world but either it was closed or they no longer have it. We couldn’t seem to find it. DD9 had grabbed some cotton candy from the gift shop outside of Soarin’ and DD6 didn’t want that. So we found our spot to watch Illumnations right between the two gift shops as you enter the World Showcase, great spot by the way. DD6 and I head into a gift shop to find a snack for her. She picks out a spiral sucker, which she had one lick from and decided she didn’t like it, so nothing for her tonight. DH heads out to find a soft pretzel and a frozen lemonade. In the meantime, the girls are fighting over who get to sit in the stroller. :headache:I made them both stand as the stroller sat empty and decided that the stroller needed to go. But no where to leave it. So it comes with us for now. While we are waiting for the show to begin DD6 starts to whine and cry about a hang nail.:sad2: I’m sorry to anyone around us. I had enough of her 2y/o tantrums. Start acting like your 6y/o. We are still dealing with these tantrums at home. Just today I wouldn’t let her have cookies for breakfast and being sent to her room to calm down and she pulled all her books of her bookshelf and couldn’t understand why I made her pick up the books before she could eat. I think maybe we lost her the first day in Disney and someone replaced her with her evil twin. Back to the TR, Illumnations was great. And we head back to POP, where we leave the stroller by the bus stops. I notices the next day someone put it to good use. I saw a sticker that was on the ground by one of the rooms in the same building that we were in. I am glad someone was able to use it and save them some $ as they are very expensive to rent. No swimming tonight, Mom needs some peace and quiet!! Good night angels.:cloud9:
Tomorrow was suppose to be Animal Kingdom……. Do we keep our plans? It was soooo Hot, so very Hot. Stay tuned.
