Our stay at Wilderness Lodge was WONDERFUL

I'll be there on July 28 for my second time. I can't wait. The first time I was there we were stuck in Hurricane Charley. That afternoon they opened up Artist Point as a buffet and it was by far the most delicious buffet ever. It is by far my favorite hotel as it is stunning and the CMs are the friendliest in all of WDW, not to mention that "Welcome Home" they give you when you come back, it brings a tear to my eye every time.::MinnieMo

Is the new concierge lounge in use yet?

It wasn't ready when we left but it was just about there. I wouldn't be surprised if it has since opened. If not I am sure it will be opening very soon. :flower:

:cool1: Thanks so much for the great review! We wil be there in December in a Court Yard view room just in time for the holiday decorations! :cool1:

We are trying to put together a December trip too. I have never seen WL at Christmas time. But I hear it is fabulous. :flower:

We're going to WL Aug 3-9 and are really excited about our first stay at this resort. Thank-you so much for your rave reviews. We're booked in a standard room - do you think we should upgrade to a view? What would you reccomend?

You are going to have a wonderful time. As far as upgrading for a view, if it doesn't hurt your budget I would go for it. Maybe a courtyard view. Some people don't care about the view but I do. You are there for 6-7 nights. so a view might be nice. I've never been there at that time of year. You might want to find out how the crowds generally are and if it might be possible to get an upgrade at check-in. If the view is real improtant to you I would book it ahead of time and not take the chance at check-in. Either way I'm sure you are going to have a great time. :flower:

I agree. We stayed for 10 nights at the Wilderness Lodge in May 2005. It was great! We had an awesome room (#3004) that overlooked the bay! We were able to watch the Electrical Water Pageant from our balcony. The CMs were terrific. CM Sandra at the Pin Station was so sweet. We enjoyed the pool often and the pool side bar.

I'm so happy for those with upcoming trips to the WL and a bit envious! You will have a great time! And the location -- well it is just a short boat ride to the Magic Kingdom! :)

We are staying at the lodge in August. First time on a property resort. I just kind of picked randomly. How was the transportation to and from?
Hope all works out. Signed up for lunch at Princess Rouind Table. Any Thoughts. Also Hoop De Du Revue.
Help me here... :confused3

The transportation was great. We took both the bus and the boat. I love the boat to MK. But the bus to MK was even faster. Only took us about 5 minutes. We never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a bus. You can take the boat right to Fort Wilderness for the Hoop De Doo. Don't worry you are going to have a great time. :flower:

I hope you are right.
Trying to do some research now. Trip is booked. How about the late nights or early openings. any thoughts? Hope the huricanes stay away. Dennis ( hey that's my name) is gaining strength in Cuba now. So much to think about. :cool1:

do they are fridges in the room?

Fridge was already in the room when we got there. I believe all the rooms have fridges now. But if not all you have to do is ask and they will bring one right up. :flower:

We were there the same week :wave2: . No fridge in the room when we arrived, but a quick call to housekeeping had one in our room and set up within 10 minutes.

I've read on these boards that they don't cost anything but they are not automatically in the room.
