Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

The one thing a lot of people don't remember, is space. Let me clarify. If your suitcases are full on the way to WDW, where would you put all your souvineers? Remember to pack an extra carry-on or bag to check in case everything doesn't fit in your suit case on the return trip!

Your pictures look great, looks like the new camera is going to be awesome! :cool1:

Love the suitcase! I'm so obsessed with luggage lately, even though I bought new luggage before my Disneymoon last May, I already want something new! :rotfl:

2 things I would FREAK out without in Florida-my glasses and my flat iron! :rotfl: I don't wear contacts, and I only wear my glasses when I'm driving or have to see things far away (like shows or something) but if I didn't have them, I'd lose my mind! And I don't straighten my hair every day, but on the days that I want to, I need my flat iron, a round brush and a hair dryer just are not good enough!

Thank you - I sure hope we get this quality in the pictures we take at Disney World! :thumbsup2

I love that suitcase as well! I know how you feel about wanting to buy new things! I want to buy a nice smaller bag but am being good and just thinking about how much better it will be to spend that extra bit of money during our holiday! :lmao:

Yep glasses would be high on my list, if I wore them, especially if it meant not seeing some shows clearly! My hair products (flat iron, hairdryer, hair spray and brush etc) are usually the first things that go into my suitcase - can not travel without them. At home I normally can get by with a brush and hairdryer but this is definitely not the case when in the heat! ;)

Thank you very much for this piece of advice - it had not even crossed my mind! I would be so unhappy at having to leave things behind due to not having enough space so will be sure to pack an extra carry-on bag. I did get a matching one with the suitcase that I was thinking of leaving in the UK - will definitely not be doing that any more! :thumbsup2

I am finally all caught up! I used the links, so your trip makes sense to me. :rotfl: Oh, the many, many changes a Disney trip can go through! But, it sounds like it all worked out just perfectly and you have an amazing trip before you!!!!

One thing I cannot forget is COFFEE! I really don't like Disney's! I know the Value rooms don't have coffee makers though (which is silly and is gonna drive me bonkers this coming trip!), so I'd say Ziploc/plastic bags! I never thought I'd use them as much as I do, but they are so handy for wet rides in the park, snacks, or if you carry your refillable mug onto the bus/park with coffee or whatever in the morning, putting it in a plastic bag after you are done won't let those last few drops leak all over your bag. :thumbsup2

:welcome: thank you for catching up! Yep using the links was a great call as otherwise you would have been very confused! :rotfl: It was stressful when making all the changes but we have battled through all the blood, sweat and tears and ended up with great trip plans!!!

I have heard about the terrible coffee available at Disney. However, I drink Nescafe (or Nescrappe as I have read on these boards!) at home so am hoping that I won't mind the coffee available on our trip. As a backup plan I will be taking a couple of ready made pouches. Good luck with getting through a trip without a coffee maker! Right you are - Ziploc/plastic bags sound like they will come in handy. Will make sure that we take some with us :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a good week so far :)

I did catch up with a Disney movie this week - yes on my lonesome. Zaheer was playing on the PS3 at the time! :lmao:

As soon as the movie started I felt so sentimental. Why? Maybe, if I tell you the movie is Pinocchio you will know what I mean.

Of course when I heard 'When you wish upon a star' I wanted to be at Magic Kingdom, watching Wishes! I settled with watching it on You Tube and can't wait to see the show for real in September!!

Back to the movie and I loved Jiminy Cricket and Figaro. I thought the Pleasure Island scenes were hilarious - esp Pinocchio smoking on a cigar! :lmao:

So, what are your thoughts on this Disney classic? I look forward to reading them.

Enjoy the rest of your week! :goodvibes

I love Pinnochio, classic Disney. A good lesson for kids too. I love the puppet scene. You'll have to stop and take a picture with him while at Disney. My sister and I took a picture with him between Dumbo and the bathrooms in fantasyland, a great memory.:goodvibes

I'm kind of "eh" about Pinocchio. I like him, I LOVE Figaro and Jiminy, but after the beginning and he comes to life, I kind of lose interest. :confused3 I wish I liked it more, because it's such a classic, but some of it is just so weird! I do love "When you Wish Upon a Star", but then again, what Disney freak doesn't, it's like the perfect Disney song!!! I'll have to try to watch it again soon, maybe I'll have a new appreciation for it!

LOL, I can't watch Wishes on You Tube, I'd rather see it in person! But I watch Illuminations all the time!

I haven't scene Pinocchio in forever. I guess it's not one of my favorites. But it does have some really classic elements, like Jiminy Cricket and When You Wish Upon a Star. Can't imagine Disney World without those!

I have not seen pinocchio in years, maybe I will have to put that on the movie night list!!!!

Pinnochio is a good one! I haven't seen it in years, though. We have a copy of it around here somewhere... maybe I'll have to dig it out and watch it with my DDs!

It is a good Disney classic. The puppet scene was fun - I also loved how Pinocchio kept lying and his nose kept getting longer and longer! :rotfl: I will definitely try and spot him during our trip. Thanks for letting me know where to find him - though with the expansion work his location may have changed.

I  Figaro and Jiminy - I think they are very important characters. I did enjoy it but don't think it is one I would be able to watch again and again - however could have watched Tangled loads very easily! Of course everyone on here must love 'When you wish upon a star' - I can't wait to be able to purchase some Disney music CDs during our trip - I don't really have that many so need to add to the collection. Let me know if you try and watch it again and your new thoughts on the movie.

Lol, as I have not seen any yet I don't think I mind. However, that may change after our trip :goodvibes

I have to agree with you - I wouldn't say it's my favourite but the elements of it have a huge impact on Disney!! :goodvibes

Yay, if you do add it I look forward to seeing how that movie night pans out!! :goodvibes

It is good, however I think any movie that followed Tangled wasn't going to be as awesome as that one!! I would definitely recommend trying to dig it out and watching it with your DDs.

I wouldn't even know what to serve :confused3

That is a bit of a tricky one. I wonder if someone has attempted it on these boards. Nothing much springs to mind apart from Monstro the whale. I can imagine maybe doing some cookies shaped as a whale but that's about it!

I have to agree with Jen; I was never really able to get into Pinocchio. I love Figaro and Jiminy too, but the movie itself just isn't one of my favorites. I have to admit though, it is a classic! :thumbsup2

That was one movie that never got a lot of play time in our house. When Jasmine was little she didn't care for it at all, to be honest, I think she only ever watched it once.....101 Dalmations on the other hand.....hundreds of times I swear:lmao:even thought she hid behind the couch cushions whenever Cruella came on:rotfl2:

That's cool Joni! :thumbsup2 We all have our favourite Disney movies and ones that we do not mind giving a miss. It definitely is a classic!

I can understand it not getting played many times - although it is a classic it is not one that sticks with you.

Lol at Jasmine hiding behind the cushions when Cruella came on! :rotfl: I didn't like her much either, whilst watching 101 Dalmations. I have not seen that movie in a while so maybe I should add it to the list, especially if you have seen it hundreds of times!! :lmao:

Pinocchio is definitely one of the classics, When You Wish Upon a Star is so iconic. Love the Blue Fairy too, she's so pretty :cutie:

That sounds like a terrific plan, I wish we were going with you! :)

:welcome: thank you for commenting on our PTR!

I would happily take along all our DIS friends in our suitcases (on the basis that they would take us with them on their trips as well!!) :rotfl:
